Game freezing on multiplayer

Hello tech support. Short question, long backstory. Recently I had an automatic Windows update that seems to have caused a major issue with me playing multiplayer with Pike & Shot(and Sengoku Jidai). After this update(s) after each time I would click on one of my units to take an action, the game would freeze for up to 10 minutes or more. No pressing of any keys or combination of keys would resolve this problem. Needless to say, it was taking me up to two hours to complete one turn. I contacted Microsoft support and they eventually got back to me. They stated that their updates don't cause issues like this. I asked if I should roll back the updates and they stated that since I don't know which update 'allegedly' caused this issue they didn't recommend rolling back updates willy nilly. So I've gone over my system to find flaws, scanned the registry for errors, searched for malware or viruses and everything has come up fine. The game plays perfectly when I play against the AI. I've updated all drivers, so they're up to date. My only conclusion is that the most recent updates changed some system settings that are antithetical to these games. I don't play any other games online, so I can't tell if this is an issue on the other games. Microsoft recommended I uninstall, then reinstall the games. This i did, but this has made the situation worse, as now the game freezes on each of my opponent's moves and my own. Multiplayer is now unplayable for me. I have had to withdraw from two tournaments I was in the middle of, to the detriment of the other players. I've noticed no other issues with either of these games. Any insights and solutions you can think of would be greatly appreciated.

That's very odd indeed! When playing MP the game doesn't really do anything different to single player when making each specific move (not at the system level anyway). Have you checked that error.log file in Documents/My Games/PIKEANDSHOT (or PSCAMP) - it might shed some light on this.

Are you able to correctly save and reload battles in these games?

Didn't think to check the error log...will do. And yes, I can correctly save and reload battles. I'll post if I find anything on the error logs.

There is nothing in there that would suggest the game is doing anything unusual. What is your system spec (perhaps post your dxdiag as per the details in the Tech Support forum sticky).

Thanks Pip. I have my laptop at a computer repair place for a check up. When it is back, I'll post the dxdiag. I'm really flummoxed about this. Sorely tempted to roll back the last couple of updates, but not sure if I should.
