PC1-remake Mod:
Rework of 1939 is finnished and it´s being vigorously tested atm to get out all the little flaws.
Now i started finnishing 1943NH. All is well on time for mid July publishing.
The 2 2nd halves are currently lacking when it comes to comm events/fluff. I alrdy have several things in mind i want to do, but the combined computing power of the community brains could surely come up with some awesome suggestions, as to what could be done.
If u have any suggestion for commendation events, Caches or heros for the 2 2nd halves of 1943NH be it EU-west or AC let me know here, in steam or in Discord. my handle is Grondel#1976.

I love the work you've done on the Steam Workshop you've done.
1a) You can never go wrong with prototypes that slightly beat out the Industry Connections trait, IE: more than 6 months early. For 1943, that can be Jagdpanthers, King Tigers, stuff along that route. I personally find the tanks to be fun to play with, so this is where my interest is, but aircraft, artillery, other equipment is also certainly in play.
1b) Same thing but for Allied equipment
2) Heroes. I think this is one of the bigger missed opportunities by the AO series, is that many of the officers you can buy with commendation points are invented, rather than pulling historical figures.
Just the initial thoughts. Not groundbreaking by any means, of course.

With the E-Series continued there is no real need for the jagdpanther/tiger. but maybe there should be a StuG-50 and a StuG-100 ? That might be a viable idea. thx for that.

So far the M-26 can be grabbed on the AC-route. In 43 there is not much allied equipment that is of mayor interest for a german player. would be just for fluff mostly. but some italien inventions might be interesting.
afaik alot of the special heroes u get for comm points in the AO are historical figures. only lately did they switch that for unknown reasons.
The heros in the mod are mostly historical. Feldwebel Schulz is surely a very debatable one, but at least he is not my fiction.

I'll enter a plea for commendation events that give meaningful choices. I personally hate prototypes (purely speculative things based on one example or mockup) or "what-if" units, but I love heroes. I know other people feel very differently about those two things. I would be super excited to see events that give you choices between cool units and cool heroes.
When I used to make mods for an older game called Blitzkrieg (rather similar to these games, but with real time battles), it had minor missions that gave rewards, then the big campaign mission. I set all those so that you had to do the minor missions to get the newest and coolest equipment when it historically first became available. So, for example, to get a Tiger tank in the winter/spring of 1942/1943, you had to do one of the hardest minor missions. To get it in the summer/fall of 1943, you could do normal missions. I never made Tigers a readily available unit. I wanted the player to have to work for it if he wanted all his core unit tanks to be Tigers.
So, with that philosophy in mind, I'd love to see a mod that maintained the historical timeline for equipment introduction, but used the commendation point system to give out the Tigers, Elephants, and other relatively rare items.

While doing so i am adding Ltd. Campaigns that are basically the same campaign but with limited supplies, to achive exactly that.
Since feedback was mixed and lots of ppl had concerns about the limitations i decided to have 1 normal version and 1 limited version of each campaign. will take some time till i am done with this upgrade, but something has to keep me busy and distracted from taking over the world.

Since you mentioned you are reworking the mod, I guess I could put this idea here just in case: a script for combining stocks of the same equipment from different factions into a single one.
It jumped into my mind while I was going through the trophy list I made for AO. As we all know, there are many kinds of equipment that has several entries for different countries, and in a campaign when fighting these countries one after another, a player can accumulate trophy stocks that's the same gear but technically different things in the engine, which causes confusion and inconvinience for trophy management, so why not have a script that detects such stocks and merge them into the first available one in campaign timeline?
It jumped into my mind while I was going through the trophy list I made for AO. As we all know, there are many kinds of equipment that has several entries for different countries, and in a campaign when fighting these countries one after another, a player can accumulate trophy stocks that's the same gear but technically different things in the engine, which causes confusion and inconvinience for trophy management, so why not have a script that detects such stocks and merge them into the first available one in campaign timeline?

The training scenarios are a good point for such a cleanup. Did u experience this with the mod as well or just the AO?
I am not sure if this can be an big issue in the mod.
could u provide a list of the equipment that does that and is used in the mod? preferably with the year it shows up.

Just AO. Personally I would like to have the script working in the background without notifications, because players don't need to know such technical details of how things work, so it's just running automatically and do the cleanup for them. maybe i will create such a script if i ever find the time to redo the AO, i usually take care when putting units on the maps to prevent stuff like that.
