BIG BATTLE FoG???

Post by Huaxtec15mm »

Anyone converted FoG for seriously big period battles yet? I was thinking along the lines of battles where there were 40-50k per side (or more) historically? My first thought for any such conversion is that one base should = a "Battle group" and have a number of hit points assigned to it (rather than bases).

Let me know what you think.

At BHGS challenge it was 4000 points per side. Chalons. I think if you search for it you will see reports. It was great fun.

Does sound fun. Though you'd hope to not have to supply all the stuff yourself!

I think the question is about changing the scale (so 1 base equals say 1000 troops), not using huge numbers of bases.

All you would need to do is reduce the size of the MU relative to the frontage of a base. And probably allow more time to play.

If you don't have lots of time, play DBA instead.

Possible, and more realistic. Just a change of scale, and an open mind.
Later Carthaginians (853 pts)
Medieval Swedish (591 pts)
Later Achm'd Persian (424 pts)
