GC on the road again

After a month break doing other stuff I finally played Prohkorovka to the end.
It was my second playthrough avoiding the mistakes I made in the first run, better deployment and tactics but still very costly.
I thought I had the 5th guard army under control until they attacked through the center of Prohkorovka while my forces were mainly deployed on both sides of the city.
Lost two experienced infantry as well as a Tiger and Panther, a Hummel, recon and a bruckenpioniere.
The guards presence around hill 217 came as a surprise and cost me the Tiger.
Prohkorovka fell in the penultimate turn and hill 217 in the last.
It was a costly but good fight.
Now I have to see if I have enough quality left for Dnepropetrovsk. 59k prestige left after repair and before replacements and upgrades.

Prohkorovka is brutal....way to persevere

Well, my losses were substantial but largely preventable.
It's tough but Oboyan felt tougher..

Oboyan is very tough and arguably not worth the DV. Actually, most missions likely aren't worth the DV if you have your SE units already, come to think of it

Indeed, Oboyan without capturing the city itself turns it into a relatively easy scenario.
If I could leave hill 217 alone in Prohkorovka it would definitely become doable.
But a lot of the tension and fun would be gone.
I went that route in Kursk armory south though where I just collected the two kv-85 tanks for almost no losses. The Soviet defense was totally static in that level.
