The loads and exit times are killing me

Post by ChaosSpawn »

I saw another thread about wait times for the AI between turns. That is not my issue, I'm not experiencing any delays or slowdowns there.

Is anyone else suffering through long launch, load screens, slowdowns in game and tediously long exits?

I've got the autosave turned off due to the multiple autosave spams from the same games that was driving me crazy on the save menu screen.

I've tried many ways to exit the game without saving (after saving manually) including exiting to the Main screen before the final exit. It can take upwards of 5 minutes to completely close the program back to my steam library page. God forbid I need to reload in game, that can be close to 10, or result in a locked screen/soft crash. In addition, I am experiencing tremendous slowdowns in game that feel laggy or ping related. I've had a couple of solid locks as well where the game was just hanging on the overworld map or battlefield sometimes with sound, sometimes without.

It is not uncommon that I will have to launch task manager to shut down the program to release the lock, but of course nothing is saved in the soft crash.

Any ideas if this could be an in-game issue, and issue with the steam connection, or my pc itself?

Thanks in advance for any ideas/feedback.

No issues on my 'win 10' laptop, but my 'win 7' laptop is painfully slow loading & exiting...game plays fine, however.
My solution for the 'win 7'...save game & ctrl/alt/delete' to Task Manager. :)
