I think your problem lies in your tactics and the way to preserve strength and reduce prestige consumption, not the scenario you are facing...

Re: El Alamein advice needed
how much prestige should i have going into this battle and should i be able to fit in all the slots missing ?
Re: El Alamein advice needed
If u have less than max possible units and some spare prestige in the thousands at that point u need to find whats going wrong for u. It's tough to tell whitout more information what that might be.Herr_Armin wrote: ↑Thu Dec 01, 2022 4:02 pm how much prestige should i have going into this battle and should i be able to fit in all the slots missing ?

Re: El Alamein advice needed
so a good barometer is wether i am able to fill in all the slots at the beginning of a battle and lets say 3000 prestige spare to upgrade before beginning the scenario . I will roll back to a battle where i had such a situation and move forward again , maybe that will do it . Do heroes mean anything ? i did assign them ,

besides general traits heroes are one of the most powerful assets u have if used right.

Recon air units
If the enemy air recon planes are shot down , will that confuse the AI enemy strategy to my advantage ? like not reacting effectively to attacks or maneuvers .

the AI has the same rules u have. If it can't see ur units it can't plan and will run into ambushes.Herr_Armin wrote: ↑Mon Dec 12, 2022 12:27 pm Recon air units

Taking ot recon units wether air or ground should always be first targets.

Enemy won't target you if they can't see you, so shooting down recon planes will affect how AI moves to some extent, but it also depends on what mission the AI unit carries, for example, units with order to attack/hold Victory Hexes or move to certain hex won't be disturbed because they don't go for your unit, but aircraft especially can change its targeting if it can't see more valuable and vulnerable units that could have been revealed by recons.Herr_Armin wrote: ↑Mon Dec 12, 2022 12:27 pm Recon air units

what does the Hero " no slots " do ?
Re: El Alamein advice needed
If you put it on your most 'expensive' unit, it takes up No Slots.
Has no effect on prestige, but does allow you to place more units.
There comes a time on every project when it is time to shoot the engineer and ship the damn thing.
