do u have to have the update to install/play 1944? or is the update included in the 1944 DLC with purchase?

while i was shopping hte new dlc, steam was updating the game version to 1.5.5 before i clicked "yes goddamn i really want this dlc" ;)

so i guess its free and not included in the dlc.

The 'updates' are always free.
There comes a time on every project when it is time to shoot the engineer and ship the damn thing.
