Did the sale really just end prematurely?

I checked several times this weekend, and I checked last time this morning at 6am GMT and the counter said there were some odd 16 hours to go (roughly until midnight of Monday in Europe).
Now I was just about to buy some games, rubbing my hands since I still got a 2 year anniversary coupon, only to find that the sale ended?
