Where is the balance?

Post by afuhi »

Hello,

I am a new player and I have a question about balance in this game. I played a game with my friend, it was 1v1 on Tiny random map. I started the game, so I had the first round, in this first round I captured 6 point. When my friend started the first round, he captured 2 point, the other points were far away. When I had the second round, I captured all of free points on the map. So I had lot of points with lot of money and he had 3 point with less money. Therefore I had economic advantage.

My question: What is the advantage of the second player? I think the first player can capture more points than the second player, so the first player has more points with more money. And we checked, he had the same number of military units as me. So where is the balance? What are the benefits of the second player in the first round?

Play it again but let your friend be the first turn player..:)
That's what 1 v 1 players often do with other wargames, it's called a "mirror game" and the scores of each game result are added up to determine the winner.
Example- In the first game you're first player, suppose you score 10 points and the second player scores 6.
Then in the second game you're the second player, suppose you score 3 points and the first player scores 8.
Add up the scores for both games, your total is 13, and his total is 14.
So he therefore wins the mirror game by 1 point..:)

so the second player doesn't get any advantage? How do pro players counter this? Nothing?
