Slitherine Tournaments: 21 Days per Round?

We just finished the second round of the Slitherine tournament for Medieval. There were about 13 timeouts in the second round out of 75 matches. Will Slitherine consider making the rounds 21 days long? It just seems that quite a lot of players are fed up with all the timeouts. A friend of mine was in a close game in the last round and they never finished either game with the scores about 55-50 in both. Quite upsetting!

Perhaps just three rounds of 21 days instead of five rounds of 14 days?

As a related query is it correct that a game score of 61-43 should translate to 66T - 44?
Is this an appropriate application of Time-Out when a very marginal difference in in-box time may have existed?

Would agree that so many time outs is disappointing, perhaps extending to 21 days would help - am not sure. Worth a try ?

I would not be in favor of going to 3 rounds in general, with over 100 entries it doesn't give time for the Swiss system to come into play and it is a lottery as to what opponents you are going to face. With 5 rounds at least by the last couple of rounds the battles are more well matched.

The problem with extending the round time to 21 days is that players who do finish their games in good time, or even worse, have an opponent who is a complete no show, will lose interest in the tournament because of the long gaps between play.
