SE units do not feel special at all....
I was adding some vehicles to the game and noticed that the SE tanks were only given 1 more hard attack than a normal tank of the same kind. I thought SE units were supposed to be special forces or elite types, but only +1 to hard attack, and no other stat bonus, is not much of an elite trait. If your tank goes from 6 hard attack to 7 hard attack with an SE unit then it is kind of OK, but when I looked, the Tiger 2 at 25 only still has the SE unit at 26, hardly noticeable. Why are the SE units barely any better than regular units? I KNOW they are free from your core, but that does not make up for the fact that they are like a regular tank with one or two stars. What gives?

I've been playing Panzer Corps for years and never noticed that SE units have any improved traits! For me, the reason for them being SE units is that they are free, and most of all, that they don't count towards your core. This last fact alone makes them way better than regular units, as you'll find out in later missions when the soft cap starts to bite and you don't seem to be able to deploy enough units for the task ahead. Five extra King Tigers make a big difference when you're hanging on in the Eastern front

I agree. This is a valid point.rubyjuno wrote: ↑Sat Jan 08, 2022 8:29 am I've been playing Panzer Corps for years and never noticed that SE units have any improved traits! SE units provide a number of benefits:
Some SE units are also awarded with special heroes (that might be only in Nikkivdd's modified DLCs).
I have added some SE units for my own mods which have other characteristics to add colour. For example, units that aren't available except as SE units (Czech 47mm AT gun for the Germans), more spotting and move for SE recon, higher rate of fire for SE artillery, different or extra switches, special SE transports for SE units, different series allocation (eg all my SE marders are in the same series).
- They get +1 ammo - this is especially useful for low-ammo units like KV2 and paras, less so for some other units.
They get +1 attack (HA for tanks, SA for infantry, not sure about aircraft).
They don't take up a deployment slot (probably the main benefit).
They don't cost prestige when awarded. Some people sell them off as a source of prestige, though you can end up short of SE units that way, since there is never a guarantee you will get one.
