Challenges.
All matches are Mirror match, 1600 points, Large/Wide map, Open Battle.
The Away player sets up the match. They can choose any historical opponent to the Home army EXCEPT that same army or their own Home army. This will allow for some Away armies to be outside of the period from 600 BC to 600 AD - that is OK. If you leave ‘DATE’ and ‘GEOGRAPHICAL’ checked that will give you the list of valid armies that you can use. The Home player should check that their opponent has used a valid army, invalid matches will have to be replayed.
There are NO Allies for either side.
Use the map that the Home army has selected, or ‘Pot Luck’ if they have not selected one.
So for example, in Division A LuciusSulla has an Away match against kronenblatt.
To set up the match Lucius selects: Byzantine 600-649, for the enemy army he might pick say Alan 25-600 AD, Open battle, Large Wide map, Mediterranean Agricultural, and Mirror.
Please check that the game has been set up correctly when you pick it up, otherwise it will have to be replayed.
Look along your row for the match ups, then look along their row to see what army and map your opponent has for the Away matches.
For Away matches set up the game, Post the challenge and PM your opponent. Best to do these first.
For a Home match just post the challenge and PM your opponent, they will then have to select their army and set up the match.
Both players are allowed one map reroll each. You do not need to consult your opponent, just set up the game again exactly as before and PM your opponent. But only one reroll per player per match.
The competition officially runs from 10 Jan - 6 Mar Competition (8 weeks). You can start from today.
Please begin two matches within the first week.
Please respond to all challenges within a week, either pick them up or let the challenger know when you will start.
If you don't get a response to a challenge within a week then PM me.
Once a game has been started all turns must be returned within three days, unless by prior notice. Players would generally be expected to average a turn a day or if it suits faster.
