AO 1940 No paratroopers

I’m at the beginning of AO 1940, and I see that many early missions demand the use of paratroopers. But I don’t have paratroopers in my army. I tried to buy some, but no paratroopers are offered in infantry units to buy. What can I do ? Why is the AI not offering me some paratroopers to buy ? Is it because I choose « Slow modernisation » ? The situation is quite frustrating, because I guess I will have to go back in time and redo many games to solve this problem.

Retrograde is the one to blame, since it delays the arrival of new units by 6 months.

Ouch… Big mistake on my part. Very challenging battles coming up without paratroopers.

In fact I didn’t use Retrograde, but Slow Modernisation. Are they both preventing Paratroopers from appearing, even if Slow Modernisation limits the number of upgrades to 3. Slow Modernisation doesn’t seem to delay the arrival of units by 6 months.

Traits used in the last AO will carry over to the first scenario, no matter what. Are you at Fornebu, and used Retrograde in AO 39?

Importante'!!!... there should be a 'WARNING' at the beginning of a 'Campaign-[Series of Scenarios]… as to what may or will 'Affect' 'Game-Play'... so that the 'Player'... is not taken unawares... and is not 'Side-Blinded'... unexpectedly!.
