Campaign often won't start at maximum video settings

Post by dumb_user »

I just started playing the game for the first time and wanted to start a new campaign. With the video setting "maximum" the game often crashes on that occasion. I tried "low" and it worked. I haven't tried "high" and "medium" yet, but I would like to play at maximum anyway.
The same happens with some single scenarios, e.g. Crete, while others run at maximum, e.g. End of the Bulge.
During the game I can put the settings back to maximum again without problems (so far).
It seems to be a graphic card performance issue, although I have an Nvidia GeForce GT 710 with 2 GB RAM which according to the manual should be ok. Windows 10 by the way.
Emptying and/or enlarging the in-game cache doesn't help (I only tried 2048 instead of 1024. Would more cache make a difference?).
After the crashes I get messages like these:

Is there any chance to get the game running on maximum without buying a new graphic card?
