The tooltip of Hold Position says "Holds position until engaged by an enemy".
However, being fired upon does not actually realease Hold Position. Instead it seems to be based on getting a target into firing range, but only sometimes?
(1.9.2)Being fire upon does not actually release "Hold Position"
Re: (1.9.2)Being fire upon does not actually release "Hold Position"
Apparently, currently hold position breaks if the system cycles through Overwatch shots (wheter the unit shoots or not).
That Tau Stealth Battlesuit just left the city, walked straight into that position and attacked my Autarch.
Not a single unit has left "hold position". Including the Autarch, who just was fired upon and lost 3 of his 14 HP!

Re: (1.9.2)Being fire upon does not actually release "Hold Position"
Its because XV25 Stealth Battlesuits has (Infiltrate) trait which prevents the unit from being targeted by overwatch attacks. So your units wont break their hold position stance unless they're attacked by a unit that doesn't have infiltrate as a trait .
Did this only happened with this particular unit or with all units?

Not triggering overwatch is one thing. It is fair. It is what the ability does by dscription and in the game balance.o cares wrote: ↑Tue Dec 14, 2021 9:33 pm Its because XV25 Stealth Battlesuits has (Infiltrate) trait which prevents the unit from being targeted by overwatch attacks. Also:
- not breaking hold position
- Not even breaking hold position when actively being shot at
- meaning with a large map potentially loosing units because I am not even aware there is fighting?
That is the bug. That is the part that needs fixing.
And it should be easily fixable. Just wake everyone up that has a enemy within firing range at the start of turn. Problem solved.
Re: (1.9.2)Being fire upon does not actually release "Hold Position"
Using this thread for a similar bug:
When a unit is fired upon while "Holding position until healed", usually it's awakening it.
But if this unit is a close combat only unit (like Chaos children), it's not awakened and so does not go in the "Manage your units" chain, and may be forgotten, then again fired upon until death on the turns if we don't see this.
So, please devs awake the attacked close combat units like the range ones when they're healing.
EDIT: Healing units awakes when they are healed, so make them awake when they too take damage instead of healing, i.e. if Heal<=0 instead of Heal=0.
