Farewell!!

Post by stockwellpete »

I have decided to close the FOG2 Digital League after this its twelfth season. Basically, I just do not want to continue and, after 4 years, I feel that I have done all that I can possibly do with the tournament. To carry on now would just be repitition for me. My thanks to everyone who has participated over the 12 seasons and a special thanks to Anders (hidde) and Ian (ianiow) for all their support with tables, charts and adjudications. I would also like to thank Marco, Francesco and others at Slitherine who have ensured continuing support for this tournament.

I will finish up this season properly, of course, beginning with the adjudications and then moving on to the end of season report, the archive and final statistics and records. I hope to finish all this by the end of the week - it took me about 25 hours work last time. I am sure that something else will quickly take the FOG2DL's place next year, nature abhorring a vacuum and all that, but I hope that whoever comes next will not pillage wholesale from what I have made here. Please do something different and present it in a distinct enough way so that it is not muddled up with the FOG2DL.

Good luck everyone and have a happy holiday. :D

Thank you for hard work! It has been fun.

I very well understand running a league this big takes its toll; it is a thankless job, and I guess nobody really understands how many hours you have put to this. Time for you to have some fun with the game (or some other game) for a change :)

Cheers!

Four years is a long time to sustain that much effort, thanks again for your great work. The three seasons I have been part of have been a lot of fun. :!: :!: :!:

Oh no! Your league has been incredibly inspiring and I have thoroughly enjoyed every season. Thank you for all your efforts. I appreciate how much effort has gone into making this such a great success. I am very sad that it has to end. I am just glad that I got to take part.

Nothing original left to say but I would also like to express my gratitude for all your hard workin organising what has been a very professionally run tournament. This will leave a large hole in many players calendars.

All the best and hope to actually meet you on the battlefield one day. :-)
