Declaring war without permission

Hi

This has happened before, very rarely, but is supremely annoying ... in short, playing as Sparta and I have just made Thrace and Cyrene both client-states; neither state was at war with anyone but in the turn the pact was signed "Sparta" - me, declared war on Persia with who had a cooperation agreement and good relations. This has messed up my strategy ... for now at least.

Any ideas?

That's in the DLC right? It might be caused by Athens...
