2021 Mid-year team event - Back to Japan

Post by ahuyton »

I suggest that we identify four games covering the entire period available in the game.

Game 1 - 1180 Gempei War, the rebel Taira v Minamoto clan

Game 2 - Ikko-Ikki 1555-74 v Oda 1565-1568, militant Buddhist Monks v Oda Nobunaga, one of the three Unifiers

Game 3 - Sekigahara time, Toyotomi v Tokugawa, battle for Shogun

Game 4 - Toyotomi 1604 onwards v Aoi 1604 onwards. revolt against the Shogun

Suggestions and comments welcome.

Might we consider Paul's mod for Game 1?

Would this need any DLCs?

I don't think you need dlcs for multiplayer if your opponent already has them

For this one you would need the Gempei Kassan dlc and then we will download the mod (which self installs) which slightly modifies it.

The SJ dlcs are definitely worth getting.

Tomoegozen (tbc)
ahuyton (tbc)

For teams:

Simple rules - the winning yeam in each round selects the side they wish to play in the next round.
As usual, the main motivation is to enjoy the games rather than worry too much about who is winning the event or tournament. This means you can play in a lively or experimental way.
I will post the games asap

Whilst diddly-dallying with various courtesans in my mountain retreat I have neglected the call to arms from our esteemed Daimyo. So sorry. We are hurrying to your esteemed Lord's Shiro now if you still require our services.

19 monks, the Covert-19, have been sent into the Taira camp to disperse plague ridden rags among their rank and file. So, all the best for round one team. I'm sure you'll all do the Minamoto clan proud on the field.

They have been very successful, our Taira warriors are dizzy in the head, have impaired vision and breathing difficulties thus make wielding our polearms very difficult.

Blast they seem to have found A RARE BERRY grown only in patches of bramble less than 2cm high on the clay soil under a disused hovel in mid-march, which has negated the effects of our plague ridden rags...curses :? !
