No. You can only restart at that point. I accidently missed the Neubaufahrzeug tank. But there, I was able to use a "All eqp" cheat to purchase it. There may be a way to add it if you know the programming language/way to do that, but I can't help you there.

figured so much. i didn't realize it until i got to a scenario you have to send lotta units to reserve. at that juncture, I normally reassign Heroes and noticed she was missing. too far along to go replay 2/3 battles

Just to make sure, have you selected an artillery unit to check if she is there? Class-limited heroes won't show up in unassigned heroes if you are not selecting a class that he/she can be assigned to. You may also load autosave files to see if you still have her in one of them.
