I just got my worst pair of battles ever (little rant)

Third round of tournament.
Difficult map indeed, some tactical errors.
But, already from turn 2 something strange happened. My opponent started getting a LOT of rallies, an AWFUL lot of held firm result on troops, at any level, even fragmented, and had some very lucky rolls with his combats (raw spearmen charging and killing my defensive armored spearmen standing uphill, baltic levies killing baltic foot with general. Kept seeing "our troops advantage" and still falling like flies). And the turn after, rally, rally, rally.
In one of the game, I managed to get him at 59% routed, and one of his peasants were in combat with my baltic foots.
Rally, rally, rally, peasants losing nothing, winning eventually with autobreak.
I understand that there is some luck involved, but this...this hurted.

Sorry for the rant. Just had to vent. GG to my opponent nonetheless

I feel your pain, this has been a bad tournament for me, my first round opponent didn't start until day 10, round 2 my opponent just sat on the back map edge and this round i've won one game and am poised to win the other being 36 -9 up but he's stopped returning turns, but i'll probably get the 75 pts and it is only a game after all so just pour a glass of wine and relax I say.

It was just a gamer to gamer moment, with a little sharing of a misfortune. Just wanted to talk about it with someone, almost none of my irl friends are wargamers.
I would do the same in case of a spectacular flawless perfect incredible fortunate battle xD

After all, among my favourite games there is Blood Bowl, so I'm kinda used to this kind of events.
And whenever I absolutely don't want any luck involved I play go

if it really was that many implausible results, you can request that they be reviewed to see if there was in untoward repeated reloading going on. Were the repeated disadvantageous results always on your opponent's turns?

I would say yes, they were in my opponent's turn BUT that may be a little cognitive bias; in the moment I felt steamrolled I started seeing ONLY the misfortunes xD
He got his dose too, some fallen generals and some "normal" bad fights. But still I had that feeling with the rallies expecially.
I don't want to accuse anyone, I was just venting/whining over my luck (lack of)
