Peculiar things happening . . .

I was just getting a bit of desperately needed practice in case I have to play in the KO Tournament and this peculiar deployment happened. My skirmishers seem to be embedded in the mountain (bottom screenshot) even though it says open terrain because I could not redeploy them. And I could see an enemy light horse unit (top screenshot) even though I was in the deployment phase. Are these things known about?

Sorry, I re-set the game as the mountains were blocking off most of the map.
