FoG in Yorkshire - 24th, 25th and or 26th of May

Post by hammy »

Posted on behalf of Paul Johnston paul@navigatorpr.com

I seem to be at a loose end this coming bank holiday weekend with no family commitments etc

I wondered if anyone would be interested in taking part in an informal FOG competition in Robin Hoods Bay, near Whitby in North Yorkshire.

We could run over one day (or two if there is demand)

Either Saturday Sunday or Monday 23,24,25

Playing 11am – 3pm and 4pm -8pm

(times are of course flexible too but could suit travelling arrangements)

There only needs to be four of us to make it worthwhile so just need three others at this point in time. But I think I can find suitable premises if there are more wanting to play.

Partners, children etc could come too and be left to roam around the tourist bits, beaches etc if necessary.

If needs be I can accommodate 3 or 4 people at a push if travel was a problem.

Hi Hammy

I would like to come as a warm up to the Birmingham competition but have my 9 year old son for 2 days that weekend.

If it is very informal then I could bring him or alternatively do it on the day I don't have him as a 1 day competition.

650AP would work well for 1 day.

Hi Robert,

You are best to get in touch with Paul on paul@navigatorpr.com the odds are I won't be able to make this one as I am at Partizan on the Sunday and the other days would cost too many brownie points.

hi
will probably aim for one day unless several want to do two-there are two confirmed so far including me ! We only need one more to make it worthwhile

will do 800 pts -it will be really informal so your son would be ok-altho tables maybe in my office or the village hall depending how things go. he can watch tv in my house -and $we may even play there depending on logistics.

saturday or sunday are prefered so far

Thanks for the information Paul.

You can add me as confirmed if you like and hopefully I'll let my son roll a few dice but will bring other bits for him to play with too.

Saturday would be best for us.

If he gets 6's does he have to re-roll them again, just joking be good to see you before the comp, get a look at your army. I'm going for last again there as things can only get better, you meet so many nice armies down at the bottom

Hi Dave

I may not have my competition army ready by then as another club member is still painting it up for me.

Anyway don't want you seeing it in case I have to face you across the battlefield.

I think my son should get to reroll 1's to give him (and his father) a chance of winning a game.

Catch you soon.

A name would be a good idea but Baycon is alas taken by a boardgames event down in the South West. You could call it Nocyab as it is on the other side of the country ;)

'Fraid I can't make it, it sounds like it could be a good laugh.

bayfog?

as we will be playing within 2 foot of the sea i suspect plenty of dice could be lost overboard. there will be plenty of drink available and i can put 4 up so if rob and son, dave and you wish to stay pre and post then that is fine -just let me know.

others can be accommodated elsewhere locally if we get an more intererest

Not sure what you had planned but my son and I can share a double bed on the Friday night if there is one going spare.

Rob
will have two singles for you both - that means there are definitely four of us playing saturday -if paul gets over from york early enough we can maybe squeeze a round robin of 3 games in-if we are brave enough and have the energy

It should be a laugh if we get each other in the first round in Birmgham.

At least we could play each other here.

It sounds as if it should be fun, with some drink as well what more can you ask for.
