This forum has only just got started, but you will find an immense amount of relevant advice on Modding in the FOG2: Ancients Modding forum:
viewforum.php?f=492
Modding FOG2: Medieval is exactly the same as modding FOG2: Ancients, so all of the advice given there should be useful.
In general, you are strongly advised to use the official modding system, which makes it unnecessary to mod your main game build, and not mod your main game build.
In particular, if you mod squads files, scripts or army lists in your main build, MP will no longer work properly.
Best seek advice on the Modding forum before doing anything rash.

Re: Modding FOG2: Medieval
So, is it possible to edit units from FOGII Ancients into Medieval?
Re: Modding FOG2: Medieval
"Everything" is possible when you know how to do it...
btw about Ancients vs Medieval armies, Time Warp is coming viewtopic.php?f=58&t=103898

They are already there, and they will be activated in the next free update. No need to mod anything for that.

Hey!
I made recently 1:1 recreation of Battle of Legnica from 1241 between Poles and Mongols and I am curious can I upload it somehow and make it public for people?

Re: Modding FOG2: Medieval
Myself and Schweetness101 will eventually be providing a medieval version of our Alternative Gameplay Mod, but it won't be until the second half of the year because Schweetness101 is busy at the moment. He is the one with the modding skills, whereas my role is to add some historical input and help with the testing. Death to the ZOC-lock!
