Order of Battle: Allies Defiant is out now

Post by ledrobi »

Order of Battle: Allies Defiant, the first chapter in a new trilogy of DLCs that depicts World War 2 from the Allied perspective, is out now.

Allies Defiant covers the battles starting from the spring of 1940 to late 1942. It features a fully-fledged campaign with 12 new scenarios and some of the most iconic British units of WW2.

We're celebrating the beginning of this new trilogy with a week-long 60% discount on all the previous expansions, valid until Feb 4th, 12:00 GMT. Check them out here.

ALLIES DEFIANT CAMPAIGN

In the first battle, the player takes command of British units deployed to Norway. When the war intensifies on the Western Front in May 1940, they are forced to change their focus and the next two scenarios feature defensive battles in Belgium and France.

Afterwards the campaign moves to North Africa, where British forces battle Axis troops in Egypt and Libya. In spring 1941, the player gets to fight the crucial naval battle at Cape Matapan in the Mediterranean Sea. They are then reassigned to participate in the defence of Greece after.

The last stage of Allies Defiant focuses again on the desert war, which changed dramatically with the arrival of Rommel's Afrikakorps. Since the Desert Fox managed to drive the Allies back into Egypt in 1942, the player has to deplete enemy offensive strength before they can finally resume offensive operations. This will allow them to deal Axis forces a decisive defeat at El Alamein.

Out and incompetent. The same glitches and programming errors as ever in this DLC. So you didn't invest in a Mac version and the Windows one comes with the same mistakes as always. Bought it, moved to Windows against my rightful customer's desire and I'm disappointed, again. The thing keeps freezing, blocking, in sum, does not work properly. Ugh! At least some polishing in the programme should have been done, after so long time without a DLC. What makes this game survive is the community, indeed.

Masca, in all fairness I need to ask you: The old PC that you said you were resurrecting in order to play AD on OOB version 9.0.0, just how old is it? Has it been recently maintained and had drivers updated?

Yes, Bru, it's quite old indeed. A quad core Intel i5 x64, with 8 GB RAM, 4x2 1333 DIMM, running Windows 10 Pro. But supports a fair HD monitor 1920x 1080. It took me 2 days to update and upgrade all I could. I'll probably try to get some more RAM to see if it helps with managing the game. But the glitches I found in the new DLC seem to be the same as usual. They release it and wait to see us find the problems.

OoB WW2 works well with 4 Go RAM. 8 Go RAM seems to me to be more than enough, the problem must be elsewhere...

Up until now... I haven't had any issues with the Game itself, but... with "STEAM" on the other hand... from time to time... the Game fails to start or goes into a 'Glitch' where it fails to keep responding... and such other like-wise situations.

The Game itself however... I find is quite interesting and challenging... so far... so good!... I have been enjoying playing it!.

Hello, I am complaining about Order of Battle: Allies Defiant V9.0.0. When I try to install it, it says I need to install OOB 9.0.0. I log in, download a copy OOB: WW2 V9.0.0 and guess what, it says I need to install V9.0.0 the very same Version as Allies Defiant! What the heck is going on?

I was just thinking???... that when a situation such as yours and as well as for many others who have experienced this likewise sickening dilemma... I propose that for each and every one of these "Installs as well as Updates" that there could-should also be a department or location in this 'Forum' or wherever... a designated place/location to assist you with your Computer... to go into or access an 'Emergency-Repair' centre... to go 'Step by procedural Step'... in an orderly sequence... to remedy/remediate the vexing consternation that you are enduring.

I am using 'STEAM'... and so have not had to endure the pain that you are experiencing!.
