This appears to be the only British commander (blue, white, red concentric circles) that can be used with a plane. Correct?

Fighters, yes. The next one is meant for bombers.

Which is odd, come to think of it. They added all those new units in preparation for Allies Defiant but no new commanders. Yet. As we saw with Red Star/Steel/Storm, they released some things in patches leading up to a new DLC and the rest in a final patch when it was released. Perhaps we can anticipate new Allied commanders in the same manner.

Aha! I'm not the dumbest guy I know. Close, but there are one or two others who are dumber than me . . .bru888 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 18, 2020 2:18 pm Which is odd, come to think of it. Before posting above, I went to the commander graphics folder, saw nothing past the latest Russkies, and assumed nothing new. Wrong! They snuck these four new Brits in the middle of the pack:
It appears that this fellow is the only new air commander:
But again, so far. IIRC, they added Soviet commanders in two stages for one of the Red DLCs.

Re: British (concentric circle) air commanders
Sudden thought:
Shards, I assume that when I talk about new units and commanders, prior to releasing a DLC but available in a public patch leading up to it, that I am not divulging anything that you and TA would prefer to remain as a surprise until the time of release. I figure that this new stuff is already out there, in version 8.6.5, so it's alright to talk about it especially since we now know the nature of the upcoming DLC. If I am wrong, please advise and I will wipe slates clean.

And, on the other hand, maybe I AM the dumbest guy I know.
I just realized what conboy meant by "concentric circle" in the thread subject. He is referring to the RAF faction which the designers just reinstated as available in the scenario editor along with three other previously defunct factions. So everything that I have been blathering about here is off the mark.
If the designers do not include "RAF" for a British air commander, he will not be available for that faction. It might be a good idea if the commanders would add "RAF" to the stats for William Vale in commanders.txt.

Re: British (concentric circle) air commanders
Okay. I can edit them in the commanders file to reflect RAF and they should work in the scenario. At least, I've done something like that before.
Thanks, just wondering why some were Brit Army and not RAF - if they were pilots, anyway.
