Just bought game, Access violation error

Hello as the subject line states i have just bought Armageddon and cannot even launch it, i get an Access Violation error.

Here are the details

Access violation reading location 0x4 (0)

Unhandled Exception ExpCode: 0x80000003 Exp Flags: 0 ExpAdress 0x01767E5F

Just to get the normal stuff out of the way.
Graphics drivers are up to date
Have tried setting the armageddongame.exe to administrator, as well as steam, still doesn't even launch.'
Is not installed in a protected location.

""ExpAdress 0x01767E5F"" This number changes each time i launch the game and it crashes.


PS. Love Slitherine and its games, i do own quite a few and have greatly enjoyed them, great work guys.

How to get a DirectX Diagnostic file:

1. click on "START"
2. click "run"
3. type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice

We prefer that DxDiag files be posted as message attachments rather than pasted into the body of the post.

once the report has been made, just zip the file then attach it to your post as it's a Txt file which is then not permitted to attach to the forum, where as a zip file is.

I have fixed the issue and i thought i might post what happened as it might help others i see in this forum with a similar error
After looking at the DxDiag log and the game's log file i noticed that the games log file had an entry where the version of directX the game was reporting was incorrect for what is actually installed on my system.
After that i did a quick registry search and found an incorrect entry in the 32bit section in registry Hkey-localmachine-software-wow6432node-Microsoft-directX and replaced the incorrect version number with the correct one. (4.09.00.0904)
