A Completed Game Review Request

Post by w_michael »

"Well, I gotta say, I'm puzzled. As far as I can see, you did not capture an HQ. You only had a 1 or 2 VP edge, at a much earlier point than last time, when you had a 15 VP edge. So why did you you win.???"

In other game systems (Field of Glory II, Pike & Shot Campaigns, etc.) using Slitherine's PBEM++ you can review the last turn of a completed multi-player game days, or weeks after it was completed. I just finished a MP game where my opponent didn't believe that I captured one of my objective HQs, thus ending the game. This, I think, is because the HQ tag is removed when the city is occupied by either side. In any case, I can't review the last turn, and neither can he after he has exited. It would be nice if the last turn of completed games was still available for review after completion as in other games.

At the moment, your best bet is to save a replay after the game completes. You can then review at leisure.

(Though I'm aware there's an issue with MP replays where sometimes you end up watching your opponent's moves!)

When did you complete this particular game? If I get some time, I can grab the last turn from the server and take a screenshot for your opponent ?

Thanks

I just did 'Save Replay' of an MP game and assumed it was deliberate and a clever idea as you could also take over the opponent's side from any point and replay the game to see it from your opponent's perspective. Great for the 'Recrimination Phase' of gaming.
