Pursuit Direction

Witnessed a strange situation last night. One BG had been charged in front and rear by enemy BG's. It was a four element big BG and ended up fighting in two directions with two elements fighting each BG's at 180 degrees to each other.

Both Enemy BG's then broke a couple of turns later at exactly the same time. Which way does the BG pursue?

I am pretty sure that it doesn't. I need to check the rules and FAQ but I think we have had a similar question in the past.

A battle group does not pursue if ... - It was fighting enemy in two directions. Page 101, Initial Pursuit
