Does this game have random maps like most strategy games or just one map that is the same for every playthrough like most RPGs?
And related question: Is there only an endless mode that can´t be won and a story mode that is heavily scripted? Or is there a freeplay mode also that can actually be won (similar to 4x games)?
Interested, but have some questions
Re: Interested, but have some questions
I'm more than half way but still not 100% on the answers but will try my best but also don't be surprised if a developer chips in and corrects me,
the maps aren't random, but some of the missions on the maps move places so maybe are random, not sure on this.
story mode is X number of main missions, which I'm told is 13, then side missions, which are 6 to 10 maybe.
and endless mode has a hall of fame, so maybe is score based, but not done it as yet, but score implies some form of score is taken and progress recorded etc
but no it's not a free play mode, unless endless mode is all the missions in any order, which i'd guess it's doesn't as the missions level up with difficulty
hope that helps some and also hope some one else chips in and add bits and maybe corrects any errors

Re: Interested, but have some questions
Thank you; I am going to sit on the fence a little longer.
I like the style, but am not a great fan of RPGs in general, because of the replayability issue.
It took me 20 years to forget enough details to replay my all-time -favourite RPG (MightandMagic 6).

Re: Interested, but have some questions
I'm playing on hard - so I had to play some missions again (and again, and again...) to complete them. Most maps change like in:Does this game have random maps like most strategy games or just one map that is the same for every playthrough like most RPGs?
- rotation of the map
- starting place and item location
- different paths beeing clear or blocked
- random bonus missions
The enemies seem to be more or less the same in numbers and constellation, but there are some randomly spawning enemies as well imho.
So in my opinion you won't be bored too fast by playing this game several times.
Re: Interested, but have some questions
it's taken me 21 hours on easy to get to a end game, and that's with doing every side mission,
for me the game has plenty of re play ability as I'm now starting again on normal, and like the member above has said, quite a lot changes, so not a carbon copy either, so plenty of scope to right the mistakes I made on the first go.
and while many will (could) do it in less time than me, i tested it for the first few levels until i got 4 divers etc and re played them over and a over again to learn how it played and understand how to play better before i started for real.
