Wehrmacht vs SE or SS

Been following Barracada and Soren's Manstein GC play through and they are both amazing. Haven't a clue as to how they figure out they strategies but, wow.
That said in my attempt at a GC on Manstein, I've been dabbling with the early sturmpanzer for SP artillery. Currently I have 2 SS sturmpanzers and I'm curious if any of you have a preference for the Wehrmacht version as opposed to the SE/SS model. I like the extra ammo early on and the intent is to switch them into other units later in the campaign depending on what hero's they get. I'm in France now and I have 8 towed 15cm and the two SP units. If I can ever figure out how to get the AI to bite on attacking a unit with 2 guns behind it on a regular basis, I may buy more.

Hi Pete, my error as there are only Wehrmacht and SS units that can be purchased. That said, I am also using Nikivdd's equipment file which may have more types of units available than the original equipment file.

Nico's equipment files include extra ss versions of german units with tweaked stats which are purchasable and a slightly wider range of se units than standard.
I just realised I don't know if the ss units take se slots or normal slots.
