What I did since the first time I played is essentially split my core into two main groups: one south that crosses the river at the bottom of the map, and the other North and Northeast which eventually merge as one battle group once the initial defenses are overcome.

I do not commit my naval forces until I have a closer airfield captured that can house my strategic bombers. My Southern force's job is primarily to break through on the bottom of the map and eventually attack the enemy from behind (the South). I also target the multi-purpose airfield that is located south of Sevastopol. It makes for a good central airfield that can strike everywhere and house every type of aircraft.

The Northern group advances West and their primary job is to take out the forts to the north of the Sevastopol. Be careful!! Those forts have long range and long sight. You really must use your Gustav to smash them and then finish off with the rest of your infantry/tanks/AT. Do not expose your expensive "regular" core artillery to the forts!! Tac bombers help here as well. The northern group's (which is the smaller of the two) job is basically done once its cleared the forts. I don't need them to force their way across the inner river. My main group that started in the Southeast of the map does that from the south. Once you have Sevastopol surrounded and the forts on the other side taken out, it's just a matter of mopping up the rest.
