Well, though I am a veteran of gaming, and military gaming to boot, I just can't seem to figure this one out. So, I started the demo as the Axis and I can't seem to figure out how to switch to the Italians. I thought, well maybe the AI plays, but after 45 minutes, they've done nothing. I see how, on the production screen and such how to change countries, but as far as being able to pick up their units, na-da.
What am I missing?
And, on sort of that same topic, what's up with my troops in Finland? Are they owned by Finland only?
Switching countries?? newbie question

The Italians don't enter the war until June 1940. Until then you'll only be able to conduct research, build and deploy new units. You won't be able to move any of their units until they enter the war. This was done to prevent France and their navy from launching suicide attacks against them.carlec wrote:Well, though I am a veteran of gaming, and military gaming to boot, I just can't seem to figure this one out. The Italians are a major country, so when they enter you will be able to recruit Italian units. To do this you open up the recruitment window and use the left and right arrows in the upper left hand corner to switch countries. The units they have become entirely controllable by you during your turn. Finland, Romania, Bulgaria, and Hungary are minor countries, so you can't recruit units of those nationalities or conduct research. You will be able to control their units just like the Italians, but any repairs you make will come out of Germany's store of PP. Each minor country has its own separate (and invisible) store of manpower, so you won't be using German soldiers to replace Hungarian losses. Once you lose a unit from one of these minor countries, it cannot be replaced. Italy joins in summer 1940, and those four minor countries join the Axis sometime between late 1940 and summer 1941.carlec wrote:Thank you!
So, when they do enter, will I just click on their icon, or is there some obvious way to shift control, or perhaps is it just that their troops are now movable during my turn?
Is this the same thing about Finland too? That since Finland isn't at war. . . ?
Just scroll down. Their units are selectable and can be moved and used as normal. Same for the USA and USSR.carlec wrote:Thank you!
