You drive the red trucks into the marked hexes.

Re: Laying Mines
Thank you
Re: Laying Mines
Yes as the briefing says and the nice forum user reiterated, this particular case of minelaying is specific to special mechanics in a scenario, not a generalized unit ability.

Maybe in future? Though I rather like minelaying being uniquely purposed...

The marker looks like a Victory Hex, but the lines have cuts in them instead of the solid hex marking.
Drive Red Truck to Secondary Objective Hex and the game will do the rest. =)

Re: Laying Mines
probably best not to make mine laying a general ability considering what i did in company of heroes in the 1st main campaign map (after the dday landings intro). proceed to lay as many mines as possible in the east to disrupt the convoy resulting in massive carnage and explosions in the FOW as the germans counterattacked. All that emerged from the fow was the odd burning wheel.
fun but gamebracking.
fun but gamebracking.
Re: Laying Mines
Yes, this is definitely a concern. Removing mines takes a concentrated effort by specialized forces... as task the AI is not up to the task to complete, unless it has been given specific instruction and also the right tools to accomplish it.Schlack wrote: ↑Mon Aug 24, 2020 2:07 pm probably best not to make mine laying a general ability considering what i did in company of heroes in the 1st main campaign map (after the dday landings intro). proceed to lay as many mines as possible in the east to disrupt the convoy resulting in massive carnage and explosions in the FOW as the germans counterattacked. You can see this in the Orenthal scenario, where a very large French force really struggles against a series of minefields and just a few fortifications on the left side of the map, while you busy yourself with your quick counteroffensive on the right side of the map. But that is by design, because it's showing your past effort of minelaying during Sarrguemines scenario now paying off!

I like minefields, but only in special cases. I don't think they belong in all gameplay. They would be far too tedious to constantly deal with.
