Spanish Civil War Strongpoints: Mucho Problemo
How do you manage to clear out a strongpoint? Infantry struggle and take ages. Tanks don't manage very well. Artillery have little effect. Bombers have better things to do. There are no combat engineers, just bridge men.

There is a section on these minefield/strongpoints map edges.
Short version: They are there for your protection.

Interesting to note more than a few players asked about these border edge minefields and bunkers. Which is fine, mild curiosity is better than original GC where a ton of people were really unhappy about enemy units materializing on top of them. That is one complaint that I've yet to see from anyone in new AO GC.
Yay progress.

Some of those strongpoints are in awkward locations, though, such as the one at Badajoz or the ones ar Teruel (although the latter are so weak it shouldn't be too hard to destroy them). If you really want to destroy them your best bet is to either bomb them or, preferably, hit them with ATs once they've been suppressed -- an 8.8 will rip a strongpoint to pieces if you park a few recons next to it (this is what I did when I decided to go on a vacation to France during the Catalonia scenario -- I blame the lack of GPS and poor weather for accidently ending up north of the French borderKerensky wrote: ↑Fri Jul 24, 2020 7:51 am Interesting to note more than a few players asked about these border edge minefields and bunkers. Mildly pretentious Swede. Goes by Path on most platforms, including Steam.

They have guns inside them usually. So i take the time with bombers/infantry/AT to create a hole in the minefield so i can get in.
I'm partial to a Vickers.
It does help to destroy the spawn first though. Being spawned on while getting the gun isnt as much fun.
