Lost internet connection

I lost my internet connection while submitting my turn to the server in a MP game. The screen said "waiting" and it went on for two minutes. I then pressed "Cancel" and thus returned to the battle. But the battle looked very weird; some units were missing, some moves looked like they hadn't taken place, etc. When the internet connection was restored, I again submitted my turn as normal, and then it seemed to work; at least the game is now in the Enemy Turn list.

But has the save file been corrupted, due to losing internet connection while submitting and pressing Cancel?

And what is the best action to take if this happens again (losing internet connection while submitting)? Unstable internet connection at my summer house, due to Mobile Hotspoting and (iPhone) Internet Sharing...

Probably all is well. When you end your turn and save it in MP, the situation is reset to the position at the start of your turn. Then, during the replay in the other player's turn, the situation at the end of your turn is reconstructed by the replay.
