I do not know, it's better to ask Slitherine.lumi68 wrote:Are their any plans to add German language to Polaris Sector?
Re: General questions
There is nothing about politics? No 'cultural' victory? all goes through military?
At now I found the research tree very poor, while its system is interesting.
In 4X, I usually do poorly the eXterminate part, why I usually loose, I like to assimilate.
I try to induce rather than the coercion way.
I've few defensive military, but in wars I activate my spies to heavily sabotage what they can.
It's not efficient but I find it fun. I try to being cool with neighbours, to assimilate but too for my side is not good to direct war. So I help the neighbours in distant wars, due to I send spy almost everywhere, the neighbours protect me from direct confrontation. Surely I'm being told 'terrorist' by my ennemies lol
It asks a not too centralized 'government' as I sometimes can gain areas far away.
I would like to find my good 4X, someday..
Or maybe the 'government'/social/political is done by other means?

Can we eliminate entire star systems?
Re: General questions
You can win in different ways. One of them is "political" - by merging other empires into your own. Or it can be a scientific domination or economical domination.ERISS wrote:There is nothing about politics? No 'cultural' victory? all goes through military?
Well, there is no treeAt now I found the research tree very poor, while its system is interesting.

If you deal with your neighbours in a good way, it's a way to victory, but you need to be strong anyway and also account for relations between those you'd like to ally and lately assimilate. Not an easy route. In 4X, I usually do poorly the eXterminate part, why I usually loose, I like to assimilate.
Well, I understand what do you mean. I did this a number of times - I like to be friendly with my neighbours, but to help them with their foes (far from my borders) by granting my allies technologies, resources, sending supporting fleets to where they do fight and, obviously, sabotage missions by my spy ships - they can really do a lot when experienced and used right.I've few defensive military, but in wars I activate my spies to heavily sabotage what they can.

But here you'd better to configure your race as having the maximum plus in espionage and, probably, morale.
There is not 'government' type, politics is done by dialogs with other races - a bit more RPG style than standard "exchange starmap for money".Or maybe the 'government'/social/political is done by other means?

It's possible to convert a star into Nova, thus eliminating everything.yarin1401 wrote:Can we eliminate entire star systems?
But it's not a standard technology.
Re: General questions
you can research it in game?
Re: General questions
Currently it can become available only with the "external threat" setting.yarin1401 wrote:you can research it in game?

Hi,
Does bearing affect system damage during combat?
Aside from firing arcs does system placement during ship design make any difference during battle?
Thanks looking forward to the game...

Re: General questions
The requeriments from Polaris Sector are very low. It does not need a very powerful computer with a high end graphics card. In fact I could run it at my netbook with a poor Atom 570 and only 2gb of ram.
Re: General questions
Ship design question, are there life support modules for the ships, or is that factored into the hull design, i.e. Blocked off areas of the ship we can see but cannot modify? You know things like plumbing, sewage, quarters, kitchens, food storage, etc.. for the crew?

Re: General questions
I have not seen it in the game but it can be modded easily. I have thought about it before.plumbing, sewage, quarters, kitchens, food storage, etc..
In the same way, if you want edit a model adding less or more areas for engines, systems or weapons, you can make it very easily with the cells editor from the game.
Re: General questions
Second option. No need to plan any modules like this.stripe7 wrote:Ship design question, are there life support modules for the ships, or is that factored into the hull design, i.e. Blocked off areas of the ship we can see but cannot modify? Re: General questions
can you auto make ship? that the AL do that for you?
Re: General questions
You start out with a set of basic designs to get you started but you'll need to either design new ships yourself as new technology is unlocked or get someone in the community to share their ship designs with you!yarin1401 wrote:can you auto make ship? that the AL do that for you?

Re: General questions
Better no. It is a piece of [LANGUAGE TIMOTHY]. Steam workshop is one of the reasons because people like me, we would not make a mod.yarin1401 wrote:will be steam workshop support for mods?
