Re: Dwight's Camo Sprayshop
Some more examples. A hint, a person can lighten or darken the basic unit with GIMP using the "Curve" feature in the "colors" section. This can give you different tones and shades to each skin depending on your likes and dislikes.

Re: Dwight's Camo Sprayshop
From what I can see rezaf hasn`t been online here for a while so maybe someone else knows the answer to this one. How do you flip the animation so that it matches the unit facing towards the left?
I`m trying to calculate the offsets and it`s very easy for the unit facing right (the default stance in the tool), but when I click to have the unit facing towards left the animation is still facing right by default. That`s a problem for units that are not mirrored and don`t have symmetrically placed weapons because they`d need different sets of values for left and right.
EDIT: I`ve sorta solved my own problem by editing the animations in Gimp (flipping them horizontally and saving them in the same DCS folder). It seems to work fine. Still, would be nice to hear if there`s an option in the tool for flipping the animation.

Re: Dwight's Camo Sprayshop
I`ve played a bit more with the Animations feature and while it`s already extraordinarily helpful, I have a few suggestions:
- please make the animation flip automatically along with the unit image towards right or left. Unlike the unit which has two instances facing right and left (both of which are apparently loading correctly currently), the animation .png only has one set facing towards the right as far as I know do you`d need to make it flip horizontally when the unit is changed from right to left and back. Alternatively, if this can`t be handled automatically, you could post an additional button just for flipping the animation.
- please add the possibility to set animations for the zoom out unit images too. It might seem pointlessly (who would want to shoot with the units in zoom-out mode?), but actually, this is used in game as far as I have tested. The efx file has a second set of offset values and while most units have them blank, the AA units have them covered. That`s because, when an aircraft attacks a land unit, the air mode is toggled and this puts the land unit in zoom out mode. If that unit has anti-aircraft abilities it will fire back and we need to be able to set the animation for this too. Since the images are so small, it`s tough setting them by in game observation alone so a feature in your tool for this would be awesome.
- this is rather unimportant, but I thought to mention it anyway. For anyone who uses the tool especially to set animations, it would be helpful if you could start the Animations panel directly. As it currently is, you first need to load an image from the default base images and only then the Animations button is able to activate the efx panel and you have the option to load and icon from wherever it is (directly from the game directory for example).
Either way, thank you again for adding the efx studio!

Hi guys,
I have a stoopid question - how do you download this tool? I followed the link from the first post and even created a free Box account but clicking on "Download" button does nothing

Re: Dwight's Camo Sprayshop
I am surprised none of the links provided are working. I will get a link set up in Media Files or check to see if one is already set there. There have been updates and skins updates posted in the thread also.

Re: Dwight's Camo Sprayshop
OK......as promised, here are two links to the last version of Dwight's Camo Sprayshop (DCS) as done by the talented Rezaf (to whom we are indebted for this tool). I have taken the liberty of adding additional national symbols in the "Insignia file", but of course you will need units masked for changing the insignia as well. I have made a lot of masks and icon units on the forum in various links posted and all are in MediaFire which never fails or drops the links. I have also made links with files of skins I have made and last but not least I have included a link for the modified DCS that is in the Amulet mod. The skins are organized slightly differently and easier to find. So if you want to find some of the older threads, posts and links in Mediafire, just search under my username. The files are still there in Mediafire for the taking.
All the tools and necessary instructions are in the forum with skins, masks, mask making tools, etc.
For those of you inclined or knowledgeable about cutting and pasting files, you can always move things around in the DCS files, it is very easy. Just always keep a backup Master or BETA file so that if you corrupt the one you are modifying, you will have one for backup. But of course with these links to Mediafire, I don't think they will be lost or go down and fail should you need to go back to them in the future. I have files there from several years ago.
My sincere apologies, when I made this response in the thread, I did not realize I had not linked the last DCS version Rezaf did with his amazing skills. I have not been intelligent enough to know all the aspects of using the animation, even with Rezaf's tutorial..........so forgive me friends.

Re: Dwight's Camo Sprayshop
@ 1jedi................I am not aware of any specific Italian skins, but most of the desert and a lot of the uniform skins would do an suitable job I would think. I did make on Italian icon unit, a flamethrower. You can find it in my Flamethrower file(s) I have listed with links in my SOME MORE ICONS IF YOU WANT THEM thread.
Here is a Mediafire link for a group of Italian unit icons I have in my files if you want them, have fun!

Re: Dwight's Camo Sprayshop
Hi flakfernrohr,
could you, please, upload the last version with the EFX studio and give us a working link ? the file DCS BETA b is not the last one I guess, it is from 2014, and it does not contain the EFX tool
thanks

Re: Dwight's Camo Sprayshop
Hi LuftWFJ44.........I updated the thread with the new link for the version Rezaf made in May of 2015. I did not realize that I had posted the next to the last version (which is the one I use most often) in the Mediafire files. But this is the updated version with other features I am still learning. I am just a skinner so maybe you and someone else can assist us with using the animation features.
