What happens at Reading?
Deadtorius moved there from Oxford?
RBS garrisoned Newbury.
Aryaman moved to Reading.
What order do things happen?
No, Aryaman bumped Dead.'s army and may be intercepted by RBS who was garrisoning. Slowly getting this.

I see your strategy involves fleeing with the majority of your armies to the coastal ports away from the fray, no doubt to take ship to refuge in the dour lands of the DutchBlathergut wrote:What happens at Reading?

? for Keyth:
Can RBS and Aryman get their game going or do you need to consult your charts? I assume its a 1200 vs 1200 AP battle in agricultural

Oh, shall I count thee the ways:
1. Picnicking in Truro...and it's the tourist season...tsk tsk...
2. Cavorting in Lyme...and that place is SO last year...
3. Touring Worchester...smarmy Royalist drinking pubs everywhere...
4. A little jaunt up north to Corbridge or whatever it's called...nothing there but sheep...ahem...such debauchery...
I could go on, but such corruption of the soul should not even be spoken of!

Re: Behemoth - Campaign Thread
Exactly - all intercepts are open battles with no fortification bonuses from towns - the garrison is sallying out to stop the moving army getting to a town. No need for arcane charts this timeTheGrayMouser wrote:Blathergut wrote:What happens at Reading?

That's my fault - I will add the army list to one of the headline posts at some point today, so that the information is readily accessible.turenne wrote:royalist 24-43Doyley50 wrote:I intend to sally forth and give battle to Turenne. Edit: List is up - @UlysisGrunt: could you please let me know if you are using Covenanters or regular Parliamentarians? Thanks

Re: Behemoth - Campaign Thread
My knowledge of the Beghemoth rules remains hazy.
What happens if the program decides that I have "lost" the battle near Reading, with both sides on 0% routed?
Since I was intercepting an advance on Reading, one might think that the enemy would have to defeat my army before nightfall or be blocked from reaching Reading. However, because (for some odd reason) I am the challenger, the program will deem me as having lost the battle if both of us are on the same % losses.
As the dour rebels are hugging hedges (for fear of being outflanked by my cavalry), and neither of us is inclined to commit suicide, the battle currently looks as if it will end on 0% routed each.
Since this amounts to an Edgehill type situation, you would think that by successfully not being routed, I should have at least temporarily blocked the Parliamentarian advance on Reading.

Re: Behemoth - Campaign Thread
Good question. Interceptions are in essence meeting engagements, so unless the 'moving' army (which is, as you observe, slightly counter-intuitively the defender in P&S terms) wins, it is blocked from advancing by the intercepting army and will return to its starting town.rbodleyscott wrote:My knowledge of the Beghemoth rules remains hazy.

It's the nature of hastily cobbled-together rules to have areas of vagueness that will get clarified as the game progresses. Hopefully these will not impact anyone's enjoyment of the game and can be resolved in a fair and equitable manner!
