Congratulations to hidde for winning the tournament - especially as he agreed to be the Granadines which are generally regarded as the weakest army on the Iberian penninsula.

batesmotel(Nueva Castilian) 19/45 - Triarius(Castillian) 49/44

The Castilian knights tried to maneuver around the Nueva Castillian left flank but the Nueva Castillian pikes and spears were able to shift quickly enough to meet the knights which then proceeded to do a fine job of impaling themselves.

So the tournament is finished. My thanks to everyone who participated. There were some very exciting games and hidde proved that the Granadines can be used to good effect against the more traditional European armies. And half the players that entered the competition came second!

The next Medieval Invitation event will start around February 2012 and will be a northern European event including armies from Low Countries, France, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Burgundy. And it will also incorporate the 450point challenge accepted by hidde and his mighty Swedish army!
