Re: Guille's PzCorps Support Base - Multipurpose Icons and more.
Here are the icons for Soviet Elite (SE) Cavalry units... Used the Phcas icon as a base and added/modified some details (mainly the shadows of the left facing icon). May be useful for Nikivdd's Soviet campaign, or any othe of the various and very good Soviet campaigns made for Panzer Corps... Enjoy!!

Re: Guille's PzCorps Support Base - Multipurpose Icons and more.
Great work! A truly outstanding effort for the PzC community!
I'm really liking your units and I'm currently trying to implement a Sturmtiger for my addon.
When looking through the Grand Armory for this unit, it seems as if the hull and the casemate are at different angles.
Eg compared to the icons by Puma, it seems to hull is at the same angle as the first icon from Puma and and the casemate is at the flatter angle like the second icon from Puma.
The color of the grey versions also seems to be a bit different compared to your more recent german tanks and vehicles (like your great Karl-Gerät unit icon in transport mode).
https://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewto ... 66#p451966
It would be really great if you could take another look at those old icons from 2013, the Sturmtiger is imho a viable late game upgrade option for the early Tigers.
A grey default version for AT and one for Arty mode would be super helpful!
Thank you so much!

Hello Locarnus:
It's a good thing you dropped by here. I had two ideas I would like to put into your attention, and maybe you find them interesting for adding to your "mod's mod"...
Airborne troops: I don't like very much to be limited (as a German player) to just two airborne/paratroop type units: one Fallschirmjager and one (understrength) Brandenburgers. On the other hand, it is not also a good or fair thing that the player can exploit the game rules by using unlimited parachute units positioned deep behind the front lines by means of the unlimited flight range of the aircrat transports. So, why not include in the map a special hex where the player can "convert" a limited number of infantry units (may be just one or two) in the same way as McGuba included the possibility to convert some bomber units into fighters in a specific location (I don't remember well now, but I thing this can be only made in an airfield located near Wien, and only to a limited number of units).
Maritime patrol bomber units: Don't you think it would be a nice idea to include the upgrade possibility of Fw-200 units into Ju-290 (maybe also at a specific air base)? Of course. I have a Ju-290 unit icon in my "to do"list...
Another one: having seen your post in the "Locarnus Add-on" thread, I can tell that the vanilla style icon for the KIng Tiger also needs a revision (I always thought that its turret looked like "unfinished"), so maybe you can use a new icon for it.
About Sturmtiger icon: Of course I would be more than happy to ba able to help you. I will start working on the "Sturmmorser Tiger" project ASAP. I already started the background research and found some interesting images to work with.
PS: I am waiting with much interest the new update of your mod!
Greetings!!

I agree with your preference for more airborne options than in BE 2.3 itself.guille1434 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 21, 2022 12:27 pm Airborne troops: I don't like very much to be limited (as a German player) to just two airborne/paratroop type units: one Fallschirmjager and one (understrength) Brandenburgers. At the moment players have 3 available airborne units in the addon:
Fallschirmjäger: Can be bought like other units, share the "Jäger" upgrade group with Gebirgsjäger and Skijäger, but they are rather expensive for an infantry unit.
Brandenburger: Bonus unit that is not replaced when lost (but now has an upgrade option in late 43), they are full strength in the addon (so that they are less squishy), but with rate of fire stat reduced to 8 (to keep their offensive value in check), generally they are much stronger than in BE 2.3, but they are also the most expensive infantry unit for reinforcements
10.5 cm LG 40: Recoilless artillery/antitank with paratrooper trait. One of the most versatile units in the game, probably still overpowered, but poor defense stats, needs some house rules at the moment and balancing feedback in the future.
For the time being, I use house rules to avoid exploits (like not shooting at London with railway artillery from the continent).
Maybe when I find the time and motivation in the future I'll implement some crude workaround, which allows for the purchase of transport capability. Which would allow for a tighter initial limitation of air and naval transports.
That reminds me, I wanted to introduce the 7.5 cm LG 40 in the Med scenario, will have to work on that. Could then start with such a unit in Barbarossa.
There will also be some light infantry rebalancing in the next version (so specifically affecting Jäger units), though probably not to the extent I originally intended.
I would love to have some more maritime warfare options for the axis! Perhaps not as an in-group upgrade from the FW-200 (I prefer "chassis" based upgrade groups for the addon), but as a new expensive unit. So that players face the dilemma of "new heavy tanks for the Eastern Front" vs "great maritime bombers against the Western Allies", depending on their situation and goals.guille1434 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 21, 2022 12:27 pm Maritime patrol bomber units: Don't you think it would be a nice idea to include the upgrade possibility of Fw-200 units into Ju-290 (maybe also at a specific air base)? I looked again at that heavy tank comparison picture. It seems that the original Panzer Corps icons for the german heavies are all a bit "perspective tilted" between hull and superstructure. In fact, the Jagdtiger was perhaps the reason for that angle on the 2013 Sturmmörser Tiger icons. It has pretty similar angle differences between hull and superstructure. Perhaps it is just less noticeable due to the fewer straight lines on the engine cover of the Jagdtiger.guille1434 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 21, 2022 12:27 pm Another one: having seen your post in the "Locarnus Add-on" thread, I can tell that the vanilla style icon for the KIng Tiger also needs a revision (I always thought that its turret looked like "unfinished"), so maybe you can use a new icon for it.

Now I can't unsee that angle difference in the original Panzer Corps Maus icon

About the King Tiger: Yep, the current one is not great. I'm just so swamped with stuff still to do for the coming update. A new King Tiger would possibly also require mask changes for camo application with DwightsCamoSprayshop. I'm not even sure that I have that third row camo pattern for the sprayshop. All in all, I'll try to finish this update first and try to get the succession game started, before thinking about potential priorities for further updates.
Thank you so much for the work on a new Sturmtiger, imho such an upgrade option for the chassis could convince more people to buy another early (understrength) Tiger. Perhaps leading to more historical force compositions in 1943 (and I just like seeing the occasional Tiger on the battlefield

Re: Guille's PzCorps Support Base - Multipurpose Icons and more.
Hello Locarnus!
Thanks for your detailed explanation... I wasn't aware that Fallschirmjager units were purchasable, so it is fine as it is now...
About the recoilless gun units. very nice addition, I just checked that both the 10,5 and 7,5 cm recoilless guns were aidroppable by means of an special container (I thought that they were air portable, but not air droppable). Excellent!
So, about heavy German units...
Sturmtiger: will work on it ASAP.
Maus: Now, I cannot help seeing the "differing angle" perspective effect now that you mentioned it, so I will rework the maus icon. I know it had a marginal participation in the war, but it is such a cool icon.
King Tiger: Will be reworked also, and include a "what if" 105 mmgunned version that was just a project...
Jagdtiger: Just reworked my detailed/improved icon (which, just in case, include an indirect fire version). Files attached to this posting.
Maritime patrol bombers: I like your "tanks for the East or Patrol bombers over the Atlantic" approach, so I will make an icon for the Ju-290.
Thanks for your invested time and hard work!!

Great to hear. I still have quite some stuff to do for the update I'm currently working on, but I currently aim for a release around the coming weekend (probably after the weekend).guille1434 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 21, 2022 3:37 pm Hello Locarnus!

The arty version of the Jagdtiger is very interesting and a 10.5cm King Tiger was certainly viable.
Perhaps I have to revisit the advanced German guns in general (long 8.8cm, 10.5cm and 12.8cm). That would also encompass the big German flak guns and there even was 12.8cm Pak if I remember correctly.
So I guess that would be the second major point on the next updates todo list (I also want to work a bit more on those infantry adjustments, which I had to cut back for the update I'm currently working on).
Though the next update would have to wait at least until mid to late April for real life reasons.
Congratulations to 800'000 views!
Just checked the last few pages in the Scenario Design subforum, yours might even be the first thread to reach the 800k threshold!
With McGuba's Battlefield Europe thread being close to that as well.

More icins to complete the Italian unit roster. We are not going to have to use such an "un-historical" unit as an "Italian_Opel_Blitz" anymore. Here are the icons for the equivalent 3 ton Italian truck used in the Second World War and other conflicts from that times, the Fiat 626. Enjoy!

I would like to know if you could provide us with the following icons:
Sdkfz 251/22, 7,5 cm Anti-Tank, artillery switch
SdKfz 251/23 2 cm Anti-Tank
There is a high probability that I will include these icons in my mod.
Thank you for your work!
