R2 Result
Triarius (Parliament) 5% vs Iandavidsmith (Royalist) 42%

With a very big wood in the centre of the map Parliament put the bulk of the forces on its left and refused a very weak right flank - the outnumbered Royalist right collapsed before the rest could get through or round the wood.

2 more battle results (round 3):

-Guillaume (early swedish) won vs. Dortmund (polish)

-Dortmund (early swedish) won vs. Guillaume (polish)

A 1-1 result between Guillaume and me with a lot of fun. The polish (and every other army  ) seem to have problems when fighting the fierce swedish salvo foot.

my 2 last results, two victories for rbodleyscott, one boring battle and the other all dices gods was not with me.

I really hope other rules in there is an other Tournament. on this one most of the battle was decide before the beginning of the engagement.

also, I really regret that Field of Glory team members have choose so easy armies ....

I understand what your'e saying, Guillaume. Altho I play mostly for enjoyment, in a tournament I'd feel stupid if I didn't pick some match-ups which I think would improve my chance of winning--especially when it seems likely that other players are doing the same.

I imagine that the current procedure for choosing the sides for each battle was chosen, in part, to alleviate the burden of the person running the tournament. It's a fair amount of work just assigning the match-ups and tracking the results.

However, for fairness sake, perhaps sides should be assigned by the tournament runner? One pair of factions could be assigned, and the players would play that pair from both sides. Of course, the vagaries of the random map might still favor one player over another, but perhaps the matches would be more equal overall.

To save work for the tournament runner, one pair of factions could be assigned to all the players for each round. This might also have the advantage of including factions other than the players' favorites.

This would be a good idea, except that it means that everyone would be playing 4 games with those 2 factions.

an other easy way is to use Pot luck option. I use often this option when I create challenge.
this option will be even better if we could choose army composition

Some round 3 scores missing.

Guillaume won 1 of his 2 games vs Dortmund. You have included it in his total score but not in his Rd 3 score.

I won both of my games vs Guillaume.
(One - Weimarian vs Polish - Guillaume felt was an unfair matchup, and is probably right - however, I did offer to play it both ways when I posted the challenge on this board.
The other one was a rollercoaster ride - Late IW Spanish vs French. ).

Results round 2

Tiopepe 48% won Blathergut 61%.

The battle was decided in lthe last turn. Until then we move on equal % of victory. Only in the 2 last turns and with a pair of regiments rout out the battle could take me the victory.

Great game Blathergut.
