Re: Palmyran list
Maybe in an open period - but in a LT theme maximum Cats should rock and rollrecharge wrote:I agreeDaiSho wrote:Sergio, this sounds a lot like disinformation to mesergiomonteleone wrote:for the moment my advices are:
- not to use Romans

The last time I ran mine at a tournament; minimum CT's, 4 Bg's of Romans and the rest LH/LF.
Finished 3rd.
For me the CT's are a big waste. Every time, the die wimpering. The only use was rear support for the Romans. A lot of points for that.

You are right, but the tournament is next week-end so I cannot published my army list (a lot of italian players read the forumDaiSho wrote:Sergio, this sounds a lot like disinformation to mesergiomonteleone wrote:for the moment my advices are:

You have to consider that the tournament is with Legions Triumphant, Declinum and Fall and Wolves from the sea (within 1000 AD, so without KN's)
After the tournament I will post my army list (it depends on my result .................... I'm joking

Re: Palmyran list
Let's say good, I was third in the final ranking.
Sergio,
How did the tournament go?
I played well but not like with dice: incredible 1 BG of CT's wasn't able to destroy a fragmented BG of CV lancers superior and I lost second macth.
But I enjoy the tournament.
The venue is very good and also the food. There were also 2 english players.
My army list:
4 TC's
5 BG's of CT's (drilled)
2 BG's of LF (average, bow)
2 BG's of LH (average, light spear and bow)
4 BG's of LH (average, bow).
I used this list considering the torunament wasn't open (only Legions Triumphant, Declin and Fall and Wolves of the sea).
In my opinion, with drilled CT's you can manouvre easily.
If you used HF you should cover the wings with CT and also I guess it could be better using Dominate because you have more options than Palmyran.
Nice army for themed tournament.
Generally speaking (obviously depending on the terrains) I deployed my CT's not in the middle of the table but close to one of my side edge, trying to attack one of the wing of my opponent and skirmishing with LH and LF.
Only in one match (against Indo-Skythian) as I lost the iniatiative I deployd 2 BG's of CT's on the other side far from my camp in order to avoid Elephants and attack the weak wing of my opponent (a very nice scottish player, Jim Gibson).
