To be fair Nigel the first person who used your list in competition was from your club Derek Bruce who used it several years ago at campaign. and he was good with it so ask for some tips, if I remember 3 wins, 1 draw, 1 loss (which didn't count as that team went down to the second decision)

cheers

Challenge - who's the "Gentleman"?!

Should that read Oxford (or is it chosen so that so you get 4 opportunities to duff up Ben?!) ;)?

You think so Nigel? However, as Keith will tell you, I sometimes forget to bring the bag!

A very enjoyable weekend so thanks to everyone for making it so. Well done to Alastair and Paddy. Good to see some old and new faces. 4 tough games and only won versus Nigel & Brian in the last game by a very small whisker (we lost 17 out of 18 attrition points - serious squeaky bum time).

Thanks to all for an excellent competition. This was Bo and my first FogR Comp and it could not have been better. Friendly, good fun, and well organised.

Thanks for running... 4x very enjoyable games... Won none, but it's only toy soldiers and enjoyed the army... Awesome final game against Richard and Charles... Although I think the main comedy moment was: flank march rolled to turn up move 1. Charles reorgaines his complete flank.. Sets up a unit of lancer armed cavalry nicely. Flank arrives.. 2x bases of DH... Charge... Impact misses and takes 3 hits... Roles a two for the death role... Promptly blows up at impact :)

Tears of laughter on both teams...

4 excellent games indeed. Pirates have luck in fistfuls - both good and bad!

4 decisive results, with the lowest score by any of either us or our opponents in any of the 4 games being 7, meant a lot of cohesion markers got used!

Only there for day two as one of Brendan's friends and had two good games and learnt a lot. Especially enjoyed the really fun game against Keith and Ray's Buccaneers which ended in both armies breaking simultaneously for a draw.

And then on our side....we spent several minutes deliberating on what to do with a depleted unit of archers trying to do something really clever, then shot at, received 1 hit and autobreaking immediately on death roll of 1 anyway :)

Thanks to everyone for a great weekend. It was especially good to see some new people.

I hope that this event continues, I think that 12 teams (including 2 new ones) shows that it is viable.
