Well, is a great add-on has very interesting armies and provide more hoplite armies and a little more pike options, new unit images are great and do this army type beautiful.
Oooo some armies can have lots of HF units, like barbarian armies in RoR but with hoplites, you can create big armies with 500 points... well, at least in unit numbers, with 500 points have 20.000 soldiers in the battlefield is very difficult
For me is a good buy today, wait say the same in 3 or more months

Cool Troops
The Achaemenid Persians are cool. I really like the look of the Spear-Bow units. Immortals are Superior Mediums armed with bow & spear. I have a couple of online games going now - both against Greek armies, so will see how they go. A honorable mention must go the Indian figures .... some serious painting there. The elephants and Heavy Chariots are impressive.
Cheers, Claymore

Same here. My Early Persians were more than a match for a Thessalian army. Use your bows to wear down the opposition before you charge. Use your Immortals in broken terrain. Simple really.iainmcneil wrote:I used the Persians today and defeated a classical Greek army. You have to use your armies strengths. If you go head to head you will lose.

Well; actually it is a "drepanon", and it was a type of curved sword - possibly a precursor of the rhomphaia. (Which was a concave curved sword with a long handle, often wielded 2-handed - hence the heavy weapon classification).TheGrayMouser wrote:Stumbled across a new unit/graphic I hadnt seen before: "Lykian Swordsman with Depranon"
I must say, this is one of the nicest looking graphics I have seen, the figure eight shield is quite Homeric.... Uh, what the heck does "with depranon" mean ?
