On the best terrian comp will you be separating "commerically produced" against "scatch built"? Otherwise the biggest wallet will win with no personal effort :)

course, I'm not making my own to match the theme of my army, honest :)

The problem being most scratch built terrain is a piece of felt cut to size. Completely scratch built will mean 1 or 2 pieces in the whole competition. A scratch built village/wood will be made up of, normally, commerciallly built houses/trees painted/arranged by the owner. I have some nice terrain. Alll bought, but normally customized for me or by me. I have a working volcano for my impassable. I have never set it off as the competition organisers and my opponenets may frown upon beig covered in vinegar and red dye.

I also have pieces of felt if I am not driving to the venue.

Peter and I will definitely bias towards scratch built BUT it needs to match commercial quality ... so if equal, then scratch built would win. Camps count.

At the end of the day its how it looks to the viewer that matters, whether built or bought. Invest time or invest money. I firmly believe built will win on average if done well, so investing time has the edge. My best terrain at home is self made (well not quite my kind brother did it for me!).

So get building!

I think Lynda has the most scratch built terrain. She could probably knock you up* a village in a couple of days. Might shrink in the wash though.

*Due to possible confusion this is English.

Entries have just hit 30 - plenty of space for more. Keep 'em coming. Nice mix of armies so far. Should be fun.

Hi guys

Anyone in touch with Si?

I've tried sending my army lists to his e-mail address but they keep bouncing back.

I've dropped him a PM but so far it is unread.

Thanks for any help.

Were you asking for runners and riders Rob? The lists aren't due until this weekend. :)
I'll be sending mine after the Wednesday night game. It might change after that, so don't try sneaking a look tomorrow.

I asked this a while ago ... What time do we need to be there on Saturday morning? This determines which train I have to catch in Didcot. Early, Very Early, or Horrendously Early.

Hi guys

The address is sahwargames@aol.com Have asked Rampage team to correct the typo but tell your friends.

Roughly 20 lists in so far. Even a few correct ones .....Will publish runners and riders here on the Monday before the event. Looking like about 25 in 15mm and 8 in 25mm. As Roger said lists need to be with me Friday. Major checking session planned for Saturday with mood determined by previous nights football!

Get there for an 8.30 check-in on the Saturday please. Prompt 9am start for FOG.

Much progress at the show. New boards and cloths will be provided. Good terrain much appreciated, so bring it along. Prize for best terrain and best painted army within FOG. Considering a "prize" for worst terrain as well ....

See you there

With all entires in we will have 26 in 15mm and 8 n 25mm - so FOG is up to 34 players from the 16 last year. Thanks to all for your support in attending.

Here are the runners and riders in the 25mm section.

Lance Flint Classical Greek
Richard Jeffrey-Cook Late Republican Roman
Gordon Jamieson Palmyran
David Allen Late Republican Roman
Simon Elliot Dominate Roman
Byron Emsen Free Company
Nigel Emsen Medieval German City Leagues
Simon Hall (not competing) New Kingdom Egyptian

I will not be competing for anything but I will play normally. Sames system as last year (although I wasn't needed then as it was even). I will always use an 800pt army. I will fill the bye position. Opponents minimum score is 10. If they get more they keep the actual score. Looking at the amry matchy ups the 10 minimum might not be needed!!

See you all there

Si

PS 5 missing from 15mm lists at present. R&R will be published as soon as they are all in. Expecting this to be Monday. SAH

Quite a few if you use both sides....but remember with 9ft tables ther flanks may well be on the table anyway!

If you think you need to watch out how do you think my Egyptians feel!!

Skilled swordsmen wasted on my army - just swordsmen is scary enough.
