Korean War is totally out of my mod scope. Like The Almighty Turtle said: I think that campaign belongs to WW2/Post-WW2 mods. Is quite away from MdC in terms of time periods.
Sorry to disappoint, but it's really hard for me already to keep working on new content between the 80s-2020s period :(

Best regards and thanks for your support guys :D

Hi Akkula,
I think that campaign belongs to WW2/Post-WW2 mods. Is quite away from MdC in terms of time periods.
I was thinking about an invasion of North Korea in South Korea in 2022.

Anyway you are the mod designer so you decide of course.

Well.... you got me there then
Technically that could be part of my mod 8) Of course it would take lots of time, but never say never.

PS: Also could be an invasion of South Korea in North Korea isnt?. Stereotypes are boring.

Hi Akkula,

My idea was to use a big map (like you did for Europe) of whole Korea (North and South) with a border full of mines.
Yes it could be an invasion by any side (like you did in your big Europe map, the player can indeed play the scenario on any side).
The nr of turns will be high of course, since you depict a full conventional war in your standalone scenario.

The player could use of course US troops too on South Korean side (and maybe also Chinese troops on North Korean side).
Creation of the e-file should be interesting, you discover the current weapons in Korea (both sides).

You did Europe, the Falklands and even the Gulf, so why not Asia ?

Anyway this is just an idea.
Yes, "never say never", you have your priorities of course.

Greetings

Robert

P.s.And Akkula has long needed to buy out the engine of the Panzer Corps game and create its own paid addons ! Yes , when you do something not for the sake of the muse , but already for money , the soul dies and becomes more of a businessman than a man of art , but for that the stomach does not rumble from hunger and good motivation does not interfere with how a person works !

Ha! That is such an outstanding statement I had to log in to comment. You said a great deal in a very short amount of words BondJamesBond. Very wise. Your words precisely capture something of the human journey/struggle. I have not heard such grand intelligence spoken so succinctly and eloquently for many years. It is amazing when someone can speak in such universal terms.

I had started working Sbpc1’s scripted train movements into Akkula’s Big Scenario some time ago and thoroughly enjoyed the process. There is so much great history worked into his mod that I feel I should get a college credit for all that I have learned. The tiles, the unique units, the beautiful map, the heroes. the history, the intricate scripting, etc. It is incredible. His attention to detail is so great that I find it hard to fully comprehend. I enjoy history and want to know reality. Akkula and Intenso82 have taught me so much about the Eastern Front (by far the most important sector of WW2). I am deeply grateful and consider myself fortunate to have played their mods (only Gary Grigsby was as educational in terms of modeling what happened during the Great Patriotic War). Very rare talents to find after over 30 years of historical war gaming.

And what a classy guy that Akkula is? Answers fans questions, always dignified, positive, never gets frustrated with requests but works to incorporate viable suggestions. A man clearly operating on a much higher level of consciousness than I have been able to arrive at!

It would be great to buy games/DLCs from Akkula but that type of marriage between ability/interest and application does not seem to exist today.....it is too perfect for a world where things always seem to be out of alignment (no matter our technological advancements).

Just an idea.
1. Global War or Conflicts.
When the peace was very fragile and at one time, after the start of a big war in Europe after so many years of peace. All hot spots on the planet are starting to burn.
Russia is against not NATO but the Western Coalition, North and South Korea, China and Taiwan, Azerbaijan and Armenia, Turkey, Iran, Kosovo... Middle East and Asia.
New players...
The world is multipolar everyone wants to get what they want.

2. Spend more time on Cold War era weapons.
What was produced in large series and is still in stock.
For example T-62 and M113.
It's no secret that even 152mm D-1 m1943 are used.

Sounds great indeed. Lots of possibilities in such scenario.
I will keep it in mind for when I manage to finish the my pending list of To-Do's, because that one would be a massive time consumer and it will come with an inevitable domino effect 8)

I don't have any interest in making money out of these sort of mods. However it would interesting if somehow the PzC engine goes open source sometime, for sure some fans programmers will be willing to improve the core game.
Although I cannot complain too much, Rudankort added some special features specifically based on my petitions (attacksub trait and editor improvment). He is amazing.

I've done my homework !

NATO Campaign - DONE

Image

My favorite campaign : from every panzer corps mod, or old panzer general games or in any other games. No less.
One of my favorite part in those games is to create my own army. In panzer corps, I generally divide my army into smaller divisions/brigades/batallions and deploy them together, so that every group has its own function. In NATO campaign, every "subdivision" is from the same country, and that open large replayability for me.
Sometimes I create large independant "brigades" of 10 units : 3 armored ; 2 infantry ; 1 AT infantry ; 2 arty ; etc ... where every brigade has it's own strengh according to units stat. French one has very good infantry and arty and usually go directly into big cities to clear them ; US has good Abrams all along the campaign and quickly have marines with river crossing vehicles : perfect for open terrain with rivers ; British Challengers are fast and strong, they can cover large distance on the flank while below average infantry (good British infantry arrive later) can slowly take small cities on the way ; ...
Sometimes I create smaller specialized batallions (3-5 units) from units from the same country : Motorized infantry btn with 2 inf units, 1 AT and 2 arties ; Armored btn with 3 armor, 1 IFV/AFV and 1 armored recon vehicles ; support btn with 1 engineer, 1 bridge unit, 2 arties (yeah, in fact, I have designed this btn just to spam HIMARS  ) ; air assault btn with 2 para units and 1 light vehicles ...
So, I have many options for my army composition : I find it extremely enjoyable ! I have done this campaign 3 times, and I'm still OK for a 4th roll.

Plus, the campaign send you everywhere with a good mix of "classical" ground scenarios and amphibious one : Belarus ; Crimea ; deep into Russia ; Kola peninsula ; ...
There are still few scenarios that I find badly balanced IMO. I don't remind the name : I had to reach a city held by the British, but I always had mud and rain, so I can't technically not even reach them or support them in time. The next try, weather was mostly good so I was able to save them ; but if the RNG dosn't want the player to win, he can't.

Excellent campaign.

Russian campaign : DONE

Image

Very good with interesting scenarios. Most are as cool as in NATO campaign, but... I have less diverse btn to create
I find it a little bit less polished sometimes. For example, there is a mission where I'm attacked by Lettonian troops at the beginning : they had the old canadian flags from vanilla panzer corps when my mouse go over them. In a mission, I have a message telling me that I have unlocked some units ; yet they are still not available for the next few scenarii. Unfortunately, I have not taken notes to tell you when it was :/

Very cool.

Syrian campaign : DONE

Image

Going into "sand" scenarios was a nice change. Unfortunately, I found it quickly boring. Other campaigns achieve to have a good mix of different scenarios so you never feel to do the same things. Unfortunately, it was quickly my feeling with this one. Still good moments : when russian reinforcment arrive with it's large air force ; the siege battle where you have to hold the airport to keep your army supplied ; ...
Still a very good campaign in itself with many good scenarios, but the player stay too long in the same kind of missions.

And I found "suicide units" not enjoyable to fight. Not dangerous in themselves, but very annoying to destroy. I had to allocate as more time and units to counter only two suicide units than to counter a major offensive on another front.

A good point over the 2 others campaigns was it was interesting to have a little summary of every major battles of this war. As usual, Akkula kept his neutral position (like the original pz corps game) even with near events that can be very controversial. I have seen mods (or full games) that fail that, so I have to notice that.

I hope a 4th campaign is on the way. You seemed interested about High Karabagh or expanding your WWIII storyline.
And yes : what happenned in the Balkans during the war ? What is doing Turkey ? How Belarus hold it's ground while the russian player is busy elsewhere ? Or, as other players sugested : did asian countries join the party ?

To others players, instead of asking Akkula new content : we can also create ours  . We have so many modern units to use now ... too much for a man alone :)
I can't wait turkish units for mine

I believe it's scenarios 11 and then 12,13 with continuity error - if you take a look on actual dates, maps 12 & 13 starts EARLIER than final stage of scenario 11. If I recall, Akkula is aware of this and intend to fix it in next (soon™) update

In any form.
Although one grand scenario I think it will be very difficult to implement.
The PZC engine has limitations, only two sides.
Seems like more is needed.

Perhaps a chain of big scenario,
but there will be another limitation of the core armies engine.
If at first it is one side and then completely different.
It is possible, in part of the scenario, not to use the core, only auxiliary units.
Lots of thinking :D

This error wanders from version to version, so you have to enter cheats or the game company will not be complete for Syria ) The author know about that error the first version, but it turns out that the fix did not work again? :D

It seems that the last version also does not fix the single company for the Russian Federation , where a German detachment is located on an island in one hex , which is not possible to destroy from ships and air bombs , and it is not possible to land there by landing because it is acute in just one hex and without capturing this island you will not ever get a diamond victory )

Indeed the NATO campaign allows the player to build a diverse core because of so many nations available to do so. I also had my fair amount of fun during my tests, my compositions were similar to yours, although my air force was mostly composed of US aircrafts.

Mmhhh, strange but I will take a look sure. Easy fix anyway. 8)
Imeror wrote: Wed Nov 16, 2022 7:11 pm but the player stay too long in the same kind of missions
My intention for this campaign was preciselly the opposite, to offer the players fresh new type of missions. It seems I failed in that one, at least partially.

Suicide traits are horrible managed by the game AI, so in the end yes, they are most annoying than scary. But at least the fulfill their task: to keep player units from being used in other parts of the battle :)

I always try to keep my "neutrality" in that matter, of course I have my personal opinion about all those matters but I will keep those for myself, but in terms of gameplay I want to keep both sides entertained :D

And yes : what happenned in the Balkans during the war ? What is doing Turkey ? How Belarus hold it's ground while the russian player is busy elsewhere ? Or, as other players sugested : did asian countries join the party ?
4th campaign is on the making, but at extremely early stages. Don't want to promise anything.
Balkans and Turkey "inactivity" shall be explained in that potential 4th campaign.

Thanks a lot for all your feedback and kind words
I am glad you are enjoying the mod!

Best regards,
Akkula.

I believe it's scenarios 11 and then 12,13 with continuity error - if you take a look on actual dates, maps 12 & 13 starts EARLIER than final stage of scenario 11. If I recall, Akkula is aware of this and intend to fix it in next (soon™) update
Yup, I already fixed them for the next update.

1. Global War or Conflicts.
You mean...... a global grand scenario?
In any form.
Although one grand scenario I think it will be very difficult to implement.
The PZC engine has limitations, only two sides.
Seems like more is needed.

Perhaps a chain of big scenario,
but there will be another limitation of the core armies engine.
If at first it is one side and then completely different.
It is possible, in part of the scenario, not to use the core, only auxiliary units.
Lots of thinking :D
Agree, we could think about couple of grand scenarios. Lots of possibilities.
But first I want to finish my total remake of the Grand Scenario Europe. Is taking lot of time, but I hope it will see the light of day sometime.....
