1st half of the Pool C match :
zumHeuriger (Pontic) 25/51 vs kmaher (Numidian)( 51/50).
2nd part is a little longer: I estimate 2-3 more turns (days).

2nd Half of Pool C match
zumHeuriger (Numidians) 46/55 vs kmaher (Pontics) 48/48. Close game but the Numidian LH kept the cataphracts from closing with juicy targets.
Cheers

Re: Rise of Rome tournament - main thread/post your results

ZumHeuriger defeated Kmaher in both games, and defeats Turk1964 on tiebreaker (99/108=91.6 vs 105/103=101.9) to clinch the final playoff spot.
The playoff matches have been set and the 8 advancing players may begin their matches! Matches will once again be paired mirror matches using your assigned army and your opponent's, to be decided above in event of a series split. The deadline will still be Jan. 30 although I anticipate all quarter-finals will be completed before then, at which point we will begin the semi-finals.
There are 3 outstanding pool matches that will take place concurrently. While not for playoff spots, this tournament does count towards league ratings. The 3 matches are Kmaher vs Mchargmg (home), Mchargmg vs mcfcivo (away) and Ulysisgrunt vs Mike48 (away). These matches will be adjudicated on Jan. 15 so please let me know if there are any issues beforehand.
Thank you to everyone who participated. All of you are welcome and will receive invites to my next tournament which will hopefully be larger yet retain the structure of the tournament which I've received good feedback about. Any and all further feedback is appreciated.

Re: Rise of Rome tournament - main thread/post your results
QF result:
Jonathan4290 (Slaves) 69/71 defeats CharlesRobinson (Attalid Pergameme) 51/49
Jonathan4290 (Attalid Pergameme) 35/51 defeats CharlesRobinson (Slaves) 96/92
Jonathan4290 104/122 defeats CharlesRobinson 147/141 (2-0)
So obviously if a player wins both games, they advance. If the series is split, then add your army scores together to compare. The lowest casualties in percentage terms wins.

First result
macsen and the Carthaginians 32/52 defeated zumHeuriger and the NumidiRomans 55/51
Carthies had more lights and set about exterminating their opponents while getting around the left flank of the Numidian line. The Carthaginian Cav had mixed luck, winning on one flank and completely failing on the other . The Romans proved unstopable but broke through to late for it to matter.
Cheers

Re: Rise of Rome tournament - main thread/post your results
First result
macsen and the NumidiRomans 40/53 defeated zumHeuriger and the Carthaginians 46/46
Romans formed up on the left, legions on the plain, auxiliaries on the hills to their left and rear. To the right of the legions came the Numidian faux legions an elephant and lots of light horse. I figured Tom would use his medium foot on the hills and try and turn my flank, and his cav on my other flank. The Roman mediums held up all the Gauls and Spaniards just long enough for the legions to slaughter everything in their path. Not even the death of their general, Scipio Unluckius, seemed to bother them. On the other flank the elephant caused mayhem with the cav, ably assisted by heavy foot and light horse, although at the end the Super spears were on a roll, but to late.
Cheers
