sergiomonteleone wrote:What do you think of this proposal:

the night of the 9th all the FOG players will go in a pub for making a race, Italians can drink only beer  and players from other countries only Italian red wine or grappa   .
The rankig of this race (the one who drinks more will be the winner and each player will receive points on the basis of how much he will able to drink  ) will be used for the first bound
Sergio
I think I'd be more than happy with that. A nice early start to sort the men from the boys. Thats providing italians actually can drink.
Are you sure British are used to drink strong Italian red wine   ....................... we can help all of you to find how to get to the hotel the night :P :P and remember to drink a lot of coffe in the morning before the first match.

The problem is: how pays?

Best of luck to all the Brits going to Rome!!

My top tip from the IWF:

If your opponent declares a flank march - a) ensure he's written down which flank its coming on and most importantly b) ensure he dices for straggling!!

Have fun

no problem for me to do; I know a lot of players like historical match-ups where possible.
I let the umpire choose the most suitable way for pairings.
Does no matter, ill know who to blame either way :D

Me too I presume the monster with 19 BG's (if I'm not wrong the armies won Britcon 2008) ................ so it could be great playing against him in Steppe or agricultural.
Me too I expected more Romans armies ......... strange :?
Sergio
Unfortunately my list selection is somewhat restricted to the number of BGs of each type I actually own. But it was impossible to resist taking Romans to Rome!

Right, I am due to arrive in Fiumicino airport at 2:30 on Thursday - once (if...) I find my hotel on the Via Cipro where is everybody going to be?

Could I ask a massive favour and get a phone number of a local in case of, erm, difficulties finding out where I am and such like?

Send me a private mail if you don't want your phone number displayed all over the internet.

That is simply not true.... I managed to find my hotel (which surprised me) and also have managed to wake up in time to not only check this forum, but to not arrive late at the venue.

I presume you got your information from Phil?

Update: Dave did arrive on time by 930. Unfortunately however the competition is in Rome, which doesn't run to BST.
