If you want to do any swapping with Ruddock that's your business but keep it of the forum

The rules

Post by ericdoman1 »

Hi there

If I was to sit an exam based on the FOG rules. I would prob get a d or worse. If that exists nowadays.

So all of you in the same pool as me, be patient and perhaps a little helpful.

This will be my first ever sinlgesish comp. Have played 6 doubles/comp games up to this point.

I know Nik G will be gentle not sure about the rest of you ruffians.

Patience will have to be a virtue when playing against me.

Apologies in advance

Cheers

Eric

I remember playing against Eric a good few years ago. It needed a lot of patience. All I could do was sit and watch. The only action I got was shovelling my dead off the table.

But that was a different game. He's new to this so should be a push over.

Perhaps you can try your non arriving flank march across a difficult river tactic again. I'm sure he'll enjoy it.

Cracking tournament. Thanks to all my opponents (even Dave Redhead) for some great games.

Rob will have to wait until Warfare to get revenge after the game today :) Despite the team bunny we managed to win for the third year in a row, Monsewer Gaukroger has now assumed the team bunny role for next year

1. MAWS A
2. Wahae Scots (Jocko McJock from the clan McJock)
3. Hampshire Hogs

Well done to Andy Ellis for gaining most points and is rewarded with taking the biggest trophy in the world home.

As the said Dave Redhead I must admit hearing Dave R crying over my dice being better than his was throughout the game was most entertaining, in fact he will tell you I rolled 18 dice at a minus and scored 14 hits not that he was counting or so he said. But the people in the far corner of the hall heard him or so i was told :)

I must give Dave his due he did attack aggressiviely with his Parthians and did'nt even think of holding back even as his shooting did seem quite bad and before someone says it was a boring roman game IIRC Dave lost 12 points out of 17 and I lost 11 out of 11.

It was another very enjoyable game one of four good games were everyone went for it. Great event

Thanks for the kind words Dave, although I must correct you, it was 14 hits out of 16. I was counting...

What Dave fails to mention is that during the onslaught I managed to kill three Roman Generals (they deserved it), breaking an Elite and Superior legion, but losing all four BG's of cataphracts in the process.

It was fun, whats a couple of dice here or there, or even a couple of brave roman generals dying whiles leading their men.

Look forward to the next time of rolling dice against you :D

It was nice to see Robert doing well with the romans, he kept Halifax A in it to the last. :)

Just to echo the earlier posts - well done again to Marc for a well organised and smoothly run event.

I had 4 very enjoyable games - thanks to Adrian, Graham, Steve & Spike - and the team format is great fun. Wasn't it close at the end?

The Hogs will be back next year - and I am the team bunny! (again?)

Can it be duly noted that Robert didn't get his scoresheet wrong and that the error was on the organisers side !!

No offense Marc !!

I'd prefer it if you didn't mention the words "ruddock", "rob" and "rodgered" in the same sentence thank you very much.

Even if i was doing the rodgering :)

Mnay thanks to all involved - organisers and players. This is one of my higghlight events in the year :D

I can truthfully say that we're surprised to have won for the 3rd time on the trot, pleasantly surprised of course, but no doubt everyone will gun for us even harder next time.

Lastly, let it be known that I am now the MAWS team bunny as I only managed 56 points. Must be Dave's turn to be bunny next
