Unpopular Opinion Thread: Dear Devs, No Basebuilding.

I know a lot of people want to see basebuilding in this game. I'm not one of them. From Dune, to C&C, to even Company of Heroes, the basebuilding aspect of RTS games is old for me. The "Resource Management" aspect of ST:TC is something that helps set the game apart from the other cookie-cutter RTS games out there, and I appreciate that. I'm tired of playing Interior Decorator in my RTS games, and this game lets me do what I play RTS games to do: build an Army and kill shit. Not stroke my chin thoughtfully and ask, "Do I want the Barracks to go over there, or over there?" Oh, the game is telling me I can't build there, so now I have to waste even MORE time shopping around for a suitable location, rotating the building every-which-way so the damn thing can fit in my base while still allowing enough room for my dumb-as-hell units to move around without obstruction. No thanks.
One of the reasons I absolutely love this game is precisely because it's different from the mainstream, and I would really want you to preserve that. Or at the very least, make basebuilding an optional feature you can turn off at the Options/Settings menu. That way, if there's anybody who wants to continue playing the game as-is, they can. The additional upcoming content is welcome news, indeed, as is the upcoming DLC. You can bet I'll be purchasing it Day One. Look forward to any other future developments, and thank you for taking the time to read my post.
